Lenovo Expands IdeaPad Gen 11 Lineup With AI CPUs, OLED Displays, and RTX Graphics

Lenovo has refreshed its IdeaPad lineup with a new generation of Gen 11 models spanning convertible, mainstream, and performance-focused segments.

The update introduces newer AI-capable processors from both AMD and Intel, along with OLED display options, faster memory, and dedicated graphics on higher-end models, similar to recent AI-focused laptop like the ASUS ExpertBook B3 G1.

Rather than a single device launch, the company is rolling out a structured lineup that covers a wide range of use cases from everyday productivity to creator workloads, a segment often covered in selections like the best laptops for video editing under $1000.

IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 Gen 11 (14-inch)

The IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 (14-inch) shifts to AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 400-series platform, with configurations up to the Ryzen AI 7 445. These Zen 5-based processors integrate an NPU capable of delivering around 50 TOPS of AI performance, positioning the system as a Copilot+ class device for on-device AI tasks. Graphics are handled by Radeon 840M integrated graphics based on RDNA 3.5.

The system supports up to 32GB DDR5-5600 memory and up to 1TB PCIe Gen4 storage, with upgradeable components. Display options include a 1920 × 1200 IPS panel or an OLED panel that reaches 400 nits brightness and covers the full DCI-P3 color space. Both operate at 60Hz and are paired with a glossy finish.

As a convertible, the device features a 360-degree hinge and stylus support, making it suitable for note-taking and flexible usage modes, a design approach also seen in the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 11. It includes a 60Wh battery with 65W USB-C charging and weighs around 3.13 lbs (1.42 kg). Pricing starts at $849.99 in the US.

IdeaPad Slim 5 Gen 11 (16-inch, AMD and Intel)

The IdeaPad Slim 5 Gen 11 serves as the core of the lineup, available in both AMD (16AGP11) and Intel (16IPH11) variants with similar chassis and configuration limits, following the direction of earlier mainstream systems such as the Dell Inspiron 15 (2026).

The AMD version uses Ryzen AI 400-series processors, including Ryzen AI 5 and Ryzen AI 7 models paired with Radeon 840M or 860M graphics. The Intel variant moves to Core Ultra 5 322 and Core Ultra 7 355 processors based on the Panther Lake platform, with integrated graphics and AI acceleration through built-in NPUs.

Both versions support up to 32GB DDR5-5600 memory and up to 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD storage. Display options vary by configuration and region, including standard 1920 × 1200 IPS panels, 120Hz IPS variants with 100% sRGB coverage, and OLED panels with higher contrast and color accuracy. Some configurations also include 2.8K OLED panels depending on market availability.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, along with a full set of ports such as USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, and a microSD card reader. The system is powered by a 60Wh battery with rapid charging support and weighs around 3.73 lbs (1.69 kg).

IdeaPad Pro 5i Gen 11 (16-inch)

At the top of the lineup, the IdeaPad Pro 5i Gen 11 targets performance users with higher-end components and dedicated graphics. It is available with Intel Core Ultra 7 356H and Core Ultra 9 386H processors, paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 laptop graphics running at up to 105W TGP.

The system comes with 32GB LPDDR5X-8533 memory and 1TB PCIe Gen4 storage as standard, with limited upgradeability due to the soldered memory configuration. The display is a 16-inch 2.8K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and brightness levels reaching around 500 nits SDR and up to 1000 nits in HDR mode.

Battery capacity starts at 84Wh, with higher configurations expected to reach up to 99Wh. Charging is handled through a higher-capacity adapter suited for the system’s power requirements. The laptop weighs around 3.75 lbs (1.7 kg), maintaining a relatively slim profile for its performance class.
