Lenovo released the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition in the United States, introducing a sub-1kg business laptop with a 120Hz OLED display and Intel Panther Lake processors.
The redesign focuses on weight and thermals. Lenovo reduced the PCB footprint by about 20 percent and increased fan size by roughly 70 percent, improving cooling efficiency while lowering noise compared to the previous generation.
Display options include IPS panels and a 14-inch OLED variant with a 2880×1800 resolution and a 30Hz to 120Hz variable refresh rate. The OLED panel reaches up to 500 nits brightness and is rated for DisplayHDR True Black 500, with Dolby Vision support on select configurations and full DCI-P3 coverage, matching panels used in Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Gen 11 Aura Edition.
Performance comes from Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, including vPro-enabled options such as the Core Ultra 5 335 and Core Ultra 7 365, based on the platform outlined in Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus desktop CPUs. Higher-core H-series variants like the Core Ultra 7 366H are also available for heavier workloads.
Memory scales up to 64GB LPDDR5X, with higher-capacity configurations reaching speeds up to 9600MT/s, aligning with developments in Advantech DDR5-7200 industrial memory. Storage uses PCIe Gen4 SSDs with multiple capacity options.
Battery capacity is 58Wh, with over 13 hours of runtime under standard testing conditions. Rapid charging allows the battery to reach around 80 percent in about one hour.
The chassis combines carbon fiber and magnesium and meets MIL-STD-810H durability standards, a certification used in Panasonic Toughbook 56. The design also introduces a modular keyboard and an optional haptic trackpad.
In terms of connectivity, it comes with three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1 with up to 4K at 60Hz output, USB-A, and an optional Nano SIM slot for 5G. Wireless support covers Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The Core Ultra 7 355 configuration starts at $1,884, while a Core Ultra 5 335 vPro model with 32GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at $2,139. Higher configurations increase in price depending on processor and memory options.
