HP Launches HyperX Omen 15 With RTX 5070 and 3K OLED Option

HP started selling the HyperX Omen 15 gaming laptop in the US with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop graphics, Intel Core Ultra and AMD Ryzen processor options, and a 15.3-inch 16:10 display lineup reaching up to 180Hz. The newer model keeps a slimmer chassis than the larger Omen 16 series while pairing high-refresh gaming panels with RTX 50-series graphics and newer OMEN AI software features.

The laptop currently comes in several configurations. Intel versions pair the chassis with either the Core Ultra 7 256H or Core Ultra 9 285H processor, while AMD models carry the Ryzen 7 8745HX. Every listed configuration currently ships with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU featuring 8GB GDDR7 memory based on NVIDIA’s newer Blackwell architecture.

Most models feature a 15.3-inch IPS display carrying a 2560 × 1600 resolution, 180Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, and a taller 16:10 aspect ratio. HP pairs the panel with a 91% screen-to-body ratio and thinner bezels around the display.

HP lists a higher-end OLED configuration featuring a 3K panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR brightness reaching up to 1100 nits. The OLED version pairs the Core Ultra 9 285H processor with 32GB memory and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD.

HP adds a HyperAction keyboard running at an 8000Hz polling rate aimed at lower input latency during competitive gaming. OMEN Gaming Hub software carries OMEN AI tuning features together with Unleashed Mode manual performance controls.

The laptop offers an OMEN Tempest Cooling with HP’s Fan Cleaner feature designed to reduce long-term dust buildup inside the cooling layout.

Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB-C charging support, and multiple high-speed USB ports. HP notes that USB-C charging works for lighter workloads through compatible 100W adapters or power banks, while maximum gaming performance still requires the bundled charger.

Intel configurations carry Copilot+ PC branding together with NVIDIA Studio support, DLSS 4, Multi Frame Generation, and ray tracing support through the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU.
