Game-themed gaming laptops usually stop at wallpapers and RGB lighting, but HP is taking a much heavier VALORANT approach with the new HyperX OMEN 16 VALORANT Limited Edition. The laptop was developed together with Riot Games and carries custom design details inspired directly by the shooter, including themed accents, hidden Easter eggs, and color treatments tied to the game’s visual style.
The launch continues HP’s ongoing partnership with Riot Games following last year’s OMEN 35L VALORANT desktop and the earlier League of Legends-themed OMEN 16 laptop. This time the focus moves fully toward competitive VALORANT players rather than broader gaming audiences.
Hardware configuration sits near the top of HP’s current OMEN lineup. The laptop can be equipped with AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor alongside NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics carrying 12GB of GDDR7 memory. HP is clearly aiming this model toward high-refresh esports gaming instead of purely cinematic AAA workloads.
Display options go up to 2.5K resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. HP also highlights its HyperAction keyboard with an 8K polling rate, which is designed to reduce input delay during faster competitive matches.
OMEN AI optimization is included as well. The software automatically adjusts system, hardware, and game settings depending on the title being played, with VALORANT specifically listed among the supported profiles.
Unlike many limited-edition gaming laptops that focus mostly on branding, HP is trying to make this one feel closer to an extension of the game itself. Josephine Tan, Senior Vice President and Division President of Personal Systems Gaming Solutions at HP, said the laptop was designed with hidden touches that VALORANT players would immediately recognize. Riot Games also described the collaboration as a way to extend the VALORANT experience beyond the game itself.

The laptop arrives during a period where publishers and hardware makers are pushing deeper into esports-focused collaborations rather than generic gaming branding. Instead of simply attaching a logo to existing hardware, companies are increasingly building systems around specific competitive communities and game identities.
Pre-orders for the HyperX OMEN 16 VALORANT Limited Edition are already open through HP’s official store, with pricing starting at $3,049.99.
