Intel Core Ultra X9 378H Uses X7 368H Design Without vPro in Panther Lake

Intel has added the Core Ultra X9 378H to its Panther Lake lineup, expanding the same platform seen in the Intel Bartlett Lake Core Series 2 CPUs launch. The chip shares the same core setup as the Core Ultra X7 368H but removes business-focused features such as vPro and AMT.

It keeps a 16-core design with 4 performance cores, 8 efficient cores, and 4 low-power efficient cores. Boost clock reaches up to 5.0GHz, slightly below the 5.1GHz seen on the Core Ultra X9 388H, which also appears in Mini PC like the GMKtec EVO-T2. With the same core layout and similar clocks, performance should be nearly identical to the X7 368H.

Graphics comes with the Arc B390 iGPU with 12 Xe cores running up to 2.5GHz. It supports DirectX 12 Ultimate, hardware ray tracing, and AV1 encode and decode. The chip can drive up to four displays, with support for DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1.

The processor is built on Intel’s 18A process and includes 18MB of cache. It supports LPDDR5X memory up to 9600MT/s, with capacity up to 96GB, a configuration also listed in devices like the ASUS ExpertBook B3 G1. Expansion includes 12 PCIe lanes with support for PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0.

For AI workloads, the NPU delivers up to 50 TOPS. Combined with CPU and GPU acceleration, total platform AI performance exceeds 100 TOPS in supported tasks.

This model does not include enterprise tools such as vPro, AMT, or Intel’s stability programs. The X9 branding allows it to sit higher in product stacks, even though the underlying design remains the same as the X7 368H.

No laptops with the Core Ultra X9 378H have been announced so far, and pricing details are not available yet.
