Keychron has introduced the K2 HE Special Edition, adding Concrete and Resin variants to its magnetic switch keyboard lineup in the U.S. Priced at $199.99, both versions use tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) magnetic sensing technology in a 75% wireless layout. The Special Edition retains adjustable analog actuation and rapid trigger functionality while introducing new chassis materials that change the keyboard’s weight and exterior finish.
The launch follows its earlier showcase at CES 2026, where Keychron first presented the Special Edition variants.
These new editions are built on the existing K2 HE platform. It uses TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) magnetic sensing technology along with Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula switches. The switches provide 4 mm total travel and support adjustable actuation, rapid trigger, and full analog input customization through Keychron’s web-based Launcher software.
Just like the original K2 HE, the Special Edition keeps a 1,000 Hz polling rate and supports both Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity. This ensures low-latency gaming performance while also making it suitable for multi-device productivity setups, whether you pair it with a desktop or a laptop with a backlit keyboard for on-the-go use.
Hot-swappable magnetic switches are still part of the design, similar to how compact keyboard-PC hybrids like the Keebmon Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 keyboard PC combine input and computing in one device. Users can adjust typing feel or gaming response without any soldering. The keyboard connects to up to three devices and supports both macOS and Windows layouts, offering strong cross-platform flexibility.
The main difference comes in the materials. While the internal hardware remains the same as the original K2 HE, the Special Edition introduces new chassis designs that change both the look and feel of the keyboard.

The Concrete Edition features an architectural-grade concrete composite housing. It is designed to deliver a dense and weight-forward typing experience. The shell has a smooth, marble-like finish and comes with color-matched double-shot PBT keycaps in OSA profile. The overall design follows a clean and minimalist industrial style.
The Resin Edition uses a smoky translucent body with a layered visual texture that changes slightly under light. It includes translucent polycarbonate keycaps in Cherry profile. This allows the north-facing per-key RGB lighting to shine through more clearly and gives stronger RGB diffusion for users who prefer illuminated desk setups.

There are also small size differences between the two versions. The Resin Edition measures 321.13 × 131.3 mm with a 27.06 mm front height and a 4-degree typing angle. The Concrete Edition measures 322.13 × 132.13 mm with a 27.39 mm front height and the same 4-degree angle. Both models keep the 75% layout, tray-mount structure, and aluminum switch plate found in the standard K2 HE wireless magnetic keyboard.
Some refinements have also been added to improve durability and typing consistency. Both editions include internal metal reinforcements and upgraded stabilizers with reinforced side walls to reduce key rattle. Metal toggle switches for power, connectivity mode, and OS selection further enhance the premium build quality.
The K2 HE Special Edition enters a competitive analog mechanical keyboard market where many brands focus on rapid trigger performance and esports responsiveness. Few magnetic keyboards use non-traditional materials such as concrete composite or resin housingsnds out as one of. By using concrete and resin housings in a TMR-based adjustable actuation keyboard, the company targets users who want precise analog control along with a distinctive industrial design.
Both the Concrete and Resin editions are now available in the United States through Keychron’s official online store at $199.99.
