Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 in Japan, a 13.3-inch business laptop starting at 936 g (2.06 lbs), making it one of the lightest ThinkPad models and placing it in the sub-1 kg business laptop category.
The new generation continues Lenovo’s dual-platform approach with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors based on Panther Lake and AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 series chips, similar to configurations seen in the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 7. This update replaces the previous Arrow Lake platform on the Intel side with a newer generation focused on improved efficiency.
The ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 remains a refresh rather than a redesign, following the same update cycle seen in the Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 AI workstation. The chassis, keyboard, and port layout carry over from the previous generation, keeping the same compact 13.3-inch form factor.

Lenovo lists a 13.3-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Detailed specifications such as resolution and refresh rate have not been disclosed at this stage.
Battery options remain unchanged at 41Wh and 54.7Wh, matching the previous generation.
Optional 4G LTE and 5G connectivity continue to be available, alongside support for one-hand opening, a standard feature across ThinkPad systems.
Compared to the ThinkPad X13 Gen 6, which started at 0.933 kg, the new model maintains a similar weight profile while updating internal hardware, aligning with lightweight notebook like the ASUS ExpertBook B3 G1.
