MSI B760MPOWER Motherboard Leak Shows DDR5-8000+ OC and PCIe 5.0 Support

A new leak from hardware tipster @wxnod reveals MSI’s upcoming B760MPOWER motherboard, designed for Intel’s LGA 1700 platform.

This board appears to continue MSI’s MPOWER legacy, offering a compact micro-ATX form factor focused on overclocking, DDR5 memory tuning, and next-generation PCIe 5.0 connectivity.

Overview of Leaked Specifications

According to the leaked specification sheet, the MSI B760MPOWER supports Intel’s 12th, 13th, and 14th-generation Core processors, including Pentium Gold and Celeron CPUs.

It uses the Intel B760 chipset and includes two DDR5 DIMM slots, allowing for dual-channel memory configurations with speeds up to DDR5-8000+ MHz (OC).

This layout is preferred by overclockers because two-DIMM motherboards typically offer stronger memory signal integrity than four-slot designs.

Build and Thermal Design

The B760MPOWER follows MSI’s familiar black-out design, with aluminum heatsinks in the VRM and M.2 areas.

The extended heatsink design and M.2 shield freezer provide additional thermal control for stable performance under heavy loads.

These features are important for small form factor builds where airflow is limited but consistent cooling is essential for consistent CPU and SSD performance.

Although MSI hasn’t disclosed the VRM phase count, the MPOWER branding and large heatsink coverage indicate a robust power delivery system similar to the company’s higher-end boards.

This motherboard is clearly designed for enthusiasts who want performance tuning without upgrading to the Z790 chipset.

Connectivity and Rear I/O Layout

The leak highlights a complete set of modern connections for both gamers and creators.
Rear I/O includes a USB 20 Gbps Type-C port, multiple 10 Gbps Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and DisplayPort 1.4 for display output.

It also has 2.5 Gbps LAN, but the absence of onboard Wi-Fi suggests this model is geared towards users who prefer wired connectivity or plan to use their own PCIe Wi-Fi card.

Audio is handled by MSI’s Audio Boost system, which delivers 7.1-channel HD sound through a separate audio circuit, which is unusual for a mid-range motherboard.

Positioning and Target Users

The B760MPOWER falls between MSI’s B760M Mortar and Z790M Edge models in terms of features.

Although priced similarly to the B-series, it borrows power delivery and tuning ideas from MSI’s Z-series lineup.

This makes it attractive to small form factor manufacturers, creators, and PC enthusiasts seeking Z-level performance in a compact and more affordable motherboard.

Based on MSI’s current pricing trends, industry sources estimate its launch range will be around $200, although no official pricing or release window has been announced yet.

Why this leak is notable

MSI’s mPower branding was last seen on high-end overclocking boards several years ago.

Its return in the B760 series suggests that MSI is repositioning the mPower line as a performance-focused yet accessible option.

By supporting DDR5-8000+ OC and PCIe 5.0, MSI appears to be targeting enthusiasts who want high-end memory speeds and reliable power delivery without the cost of Z-series models.

If accurate, the B760MPOWER could become one of the most capable B760 motherboards ever released, continuing MSI’s pursuit of high-efficiency performance in smaller builds.
