MSI Titan 18 Max (2026) Goes on Sale With RTX 5080 and 260W Combined Power

MSI has started sales of the Titan 18 Max (Raider 18 Max HX) in China, bringing an 18-inch gaming laptop built around Intel’s Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, with combined CPU and GPU power reaching up to 260W, similar as we have seen in laptop such as the ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2026).

That power level places it among the highest-performance gaming laptops currently available, moving closer to desktop-class systems with sustained output under heavy workloads.

The Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus belongs to Intel’s Arrow Lake-HX refresh lineup, paired here with a full-power RTX 5080 configuration. A cooling setup with seven heat pipes and dual fans supports high load conditions , following earlier high-performance HX-class chips such as the Intel Core i7-13645HX.

An 18-inch Mini LED panel sits on the front, running at 3840 × 2400 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and carries VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, placing it closer to creator-grade panels while still supporting gaming workloads.

The laptop ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe Gen5 SSD, with upgrade support depending on configuration. Networking includes Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 alongside 2.5Gb Ethernet for wired connections.

Port selection includes two Thunderbolt 5 ports, three USB-A ports (10Gbps), HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack. A six-speaker system tuned by Dynaudio handles audio output, while a per-key RGB keyboard from SteelSeries is included.

A 99.9Wh battery is paired with a 400W power adapter, reflecting the system’s high power draw. Weight is listed at 7.94 lbs (3.6 kg), aligning with its positioning as a portable desktop rather than a typical gaming laptop.

Pricing in China starts at ¥30,999 (around $4,280 at current rate), with no confirmed timeline for a wider global release.

The configuration reflects a continued shift toward larger, high-power gaming laptops that prioritize sustained performance over portability.
