NuPhy has launched the Aquarium nSA keycap set, a low-profile PBT kit made for its Air, Kick, and Node series mechanical keyboards. Released on February 26, 2026, the NuPhy x Riel collaboration is priced at $49.95 and is compatible with a wide range of low-profile layouts beyond NuPhy’s own lineup.
The Aquarium set uses NuPhy’s in-house nSA profile. This is a uniform-height low-profile keycap design created specifically for slim mechanical boards. Unlike sculpted profiles, the nSA layout features six equal-height rows, giving the keyboard a flat and consistent typing surface.
This design helps reduce finger travel and can make typing feel smoother on compact layouts. Uniform profiles also improve compatibility across different keyboard formats, including ortholinear and smaller custom builds.
The set includes 159 keycaps made from five-sided dye-sublimated PBT. PBT material is widely preferred over ABS because it resists shine and surface wear over time.
The dye-sublimation process embeds the legends and artwork directly into the plastic, helping maintain clarity even after long-term use. At $49.95, the set sits in the mid-range segment for low-profile PBT keycaps and is compatible with boards such as the Keychron K3 HE and K3 Ultra 8K low-profile keyboards.
