TerransForce features an 18-inch workstation laptop with RTX 5090 graphics, Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, and memory starting at 128GB, pushing desktop-class hardware into a portable format.
The laptop offers 18-inch display with 3840×2400 resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. This combination of high resolution and high refresh rate remains rare in workstation systems, where most devices focus on color accuracy over refresh speed.
The hardware includes Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus paired with an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB VRAM, similar to configurations seen in the Razer Blade 16 2026, which is aimed at tasks as rendering, simulation, and AI workloads. Hardware at this level places the X98W closer to desktop replacement systems than traditional mobile workstations.
Memory is a key highlight. The laptop includes four DDR5 SO-DIMM slots with configurations starting at 128GB, offering upgrade flexibility and capacity typically seen in desktop platforms.
You get four M.2 SSD slots, making it easy to set up fast storage with plenty of capacity for heavy workload.
The cooling setup combines dual high-speed fans with a 330W silicon carbide power platform, designed to sustain high performance under heavy workloads.
Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI output, USB 3.2 ports, dual 2.5Gb Ethernet ports, and a microSD card reader, matching features seen in best Thunderbolt 5 laptops. Wireless connectivity is provided through Intel BE200.
The chassis measures 402 × 320 × 28 mm and weighs at least 8.6 lbs (3.9 kg), reflecting its focus on performance over portability. Additional features include a 5MP webcam, a five-speaker audio system, and a scissor-switch RGB keyboard with 1.5mm key travel.
The X98W is listed on TerransForce’s official website and is scheduled to go on sale in April. Pricing has not been announced.
