Xiaomi RedmiBook Panther Lake Leak Points to Affordable Core Ultra Laptops

A new leak suggests Xiaomi is preparing to bring its next generation Intel Panther Lake laptops to a much lower price range. The information comes from a recent Weibo post by a known leaker, which indicates that new RedmiBook models are in development. These laptops are expected to use Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and could launch sooner than expected.

According to the leak, Xiaomi is working on 14 inch and 16 inch RedmiBook laptops. One of the higher configurations may include a Core Ultra X7 358H processor with up to 32 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. There are also expected to be more affordable versions with Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 5 338H chips. However, a full specification sheet has not been shared yet, so many details are still not confirmed.

The same processor lineup is already used in Xiaomi’s recently launched Book Pro 14, which makes this leak more believable. That device is placed in the premium category, so bringing the same platform to the RedmiBook series shows that Xiaomi wants to make newer hardware available to more users at a lower price.

Launch TimingLikely late April 2026
Pricing ExpectationExpected below CNY 7,999

One important detail is the role of the Core Ultra 5 325 processor. This chip is expected to be the entry level option and may decide the starting price of the lineup. Since Redmi products are usually priced lower than Xiaomi branded models, the starting price could fall below CNY 7,999, which is where the Book Pro 14 begins.

The leak also points to this being part of a more cost focused LCD based lineup. This suggests Xiaomi may reduce costs by avoiding premium display technologies while still offering strong performance.

Another key part of the leak is the integrated graphics. The Core Ultra X7 358H is expected to include Intel Arc B390 graphics, while the lower models may use Arc B370. These are newer generation integrated GPUs, but there are no official benchmarks yet. Some early user discussions suggest performance could be close to entry level graphics cards like the RTX 3050 in certain situations, but this is not confirmed and should be treated carefully.

If the graphics performance improves as expected, it could change how thin and light laptops are used. These laptops are usually designed for office work, browsing, and basic tasks. Better graphics could allow them to handle light gaming, editing, and other demanding tasks without needing a separate graphics card.

Compared to earlier Intel platforms, Panther Lake seems to focus more on balanced performance. Previous generations improved efficiency and added AI features, but real world performance gains were not always clear for regular users. This new platform may aim to improve both CPU and graphics performance together.

The leak also suggests that Xiaomi may focus more on thin and light laptops instead of expanding its gaming laptop lineup right now. If integrated graphics continue to improve, users may not need entry level gaming laptops as much as before.

Details like battery size, cooling system, display quality, and global availability have not been confirmed. RedmiBook laptops are not always released worldwide, so availability may be limited to certain regions.

The launch timing is also not final. The leak suggests a release around April 2026, possibly alongside other Xiaomi products such as phones and tablets.

What is clear is the direction Xiaomi is taking. The company is moving new Intel hardware into more affordable laptops faster than before. If pricing is competitive and performance holds up in real use, these upcoming RedmiBook models could make thin and light laptops more powerful without increasing cost too much.

For users, this could reduce a common problem. Many people have to choose between a light laptop and a powerful one. If this leak turns out to be correct, future laptops may offer both in a single device.
