ASUS ROG Flow Z13-KJP Preorders Open Feb 24, Bundles Death Stranding 2

ASUS has confirmed that preorders for the limited-edition ROG Flow Z13-KJP will open on February 24, with each purchase including a copy of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for PC at launch. The announcement was shared through ASUS ROG’s official X account, which also noted that pricing and availability will vary by region.

Rather than serving as a simple themed variant, the Z13-KJP is positioned as a high-end compact gaming system built around AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. The configuration includes up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5X memory, placing it among the most memory-intensive detachable gaming devices currently announced. Full specifications are listed on ASUS’ official product page.

The preorder timing coincides with the PC release window of Death Stranding 2, which is scheduled to launch in March 2026 following its earlier PlayStation 5 debut. The standard edition is priced at $69.99, and its inclusion with the device adds immediate value for buyers planning to play the title at release.

ASUS is not just promoting the hardware specs. By bundling the device with a major AAA title, the company is giving buyers an added reason to consider it at launch. Including a high-profile game helps the system stand out in the premium gaming segment.

The ROG Flow Z13-KJP is powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, which features 16 cores and 32 threads. It also includes an integrated XDNA neural processing unit rated at up to 50 TOPS. This exceeds Microsoft’s 40 TOPS Copilot+ requirement, placing the device among the higher-performance Windows AI PCs currently available.

This neural capability allows the device to handle AI-assisted workflows directly on the system, including generative content tasks, real-time productivity enhancements, and local model inference without heavy reliance on cloud compute. Rather than being positioned purely as a gaming tablet, the Z13-KJP enters the market as an AI-native performance device.

The 128GB LPDDR5X unified memory configuration is one of the most distinctive elements of the release. In a 13-inch detachable form factor, this capacity is rarely seen. While gaming workloads alone do not require such scale, AI developers, 3D creators, simulation users, and advanced multitaskers can benefit from the expanded memory headroom and high-bandwidth access between CPU, GPU, and NPU.

The integrated Radeon 8060S handles graphics. Although it is not a discrete GPU, AMD’s latest RDNA-based integrated designs, paired with high-speed unified memory, narrow the gap for 1080p and high-refresh gaming in optimized titles. For users requiring additional graphics performance, the system supports ASUS’ XG Mobile external GPU ecosystem, extending its performance ceiling in docked scenarios.

The 13.4-inch IPS-level display carries a 2560 × 1600 resolution with a 180Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and full DCI-P3 color coverage. Stylus support and the detachable keyboard design reinforce its hybrid identity, allowing it to function as a gaming system, creative slate, and portable workstation within a 1.72 kg (3.79 lbs) chassis.

Design differentiation comes through the collaboration with Kojima Productions. The device features Ludens-inspired visual elements and an exclusive Armory Crate theme, positioning it not only as a performance system but also as a collector-focused release.

From a market standpoint, the Z13-KJP targets a specific segment of users: AI developers seeking strong local NPU performance, creators who require high unified memory capacity, enthusiasts planning to play Death Stranding 2 on PC at launch, and hybrid users who value modular GPU scalability. It does not aim to replace larger discrete gaming laptops, but rather to occupy the intersection of portability, AI acceleration, and expandable performance.

Pricing has not yet been disclosed, though ASUS confirmed it will vary by region. With a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, 128GB of LPDDR5X memory, and Wi-Fi 7 support, the limited-edition model is expected to be positioned in the higher price segment.

With preorders opening on February 24, the ROG Flow Z13-KJP combines compact design, high memory capacity, external GPU support, and a bundled AAA title, offering a distinctive option for users seeking both portability and performance.
