ACEMAGIC Retro X5 Mini PC With Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Now Available Globally

AceMagic has launched the Retro X5 mini PC powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor. The compact system combines modern AI hardware with a retro-inspired console design. The Retro X5 was first introduced in China earlier this year, and it is now appearing in global retail listings. We previously reported on the Retro X5 mini PC launch in China, where the system was announced with Ryzen AI hardware and Radeon 890M graphics.

ACEMAGIC has released several compact desktop systems in recent years. We previously reported on the ACEMAGIC M5 mini PC powered by Intel Raptor Lake HX processors.

The Retro X5 runs on AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, which is designed for next-generation AI PCs. The chip uses a hybrid architecture with 4 Zen 5 cores and 8 Zen 5c cores, giving it a total of 12 cores and 24 threads. It can boost up to 5.1 GHz, providing performance that can compete with larger desktop systems while still remaining efficient for a compact device.

One of the main features of this processor is AMD’s XDNA2 AI engine. It can deliver up to 50 TOPS of dedicated AI performance. When combined with the CPU and GPU, the full platform can reach about 80 TOPS of AI computing power.

Other manufacturers are also developing AI-focused compact systems. We previously reported on a GMKtec mini PC using Intel’s Panther Lake processor with up to 180 TOPS of AI compute. This allows the mini PC to run local AI workloads such as generative AI tools, productivity assistants, and machine learning applications.

Graphics are handled by AMD Radeon 890M integrated graphics built on the RDNA 3.5 architecture. The GPU includes 16 compute units and is considered one of the most powerful integrated graphics solutions available today. In some situations, it can perform close to entry-level dedicated graphics cards, allowing the system to run modern games, creative software, and other GPU-heavy tasks even though it is a compact mini PC.

AceMagic includes 32 GB of DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe solid-state drive in the system. The hardware also supports upgrades, allowing memory to be expanded up to 128 GB and storage up to 4 TB. This gives users flexibility for demanding workloads such as video editing, programming, multitasking, and local AI processing.

Even though the Retro X5 is very small, it still offers a wide range of connectivity options. The system supports up to four displays at the same time through HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.0, and USB-C outputs. Compatible monitors can reach resolutions up to 8K at 60 Hz, which is useful for high-resolution work, multitasking setups, and content creation.

The mini PC also includes USB4 connectivity, several USB 3.2 ports, dual Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. These features allow fast networking and easy connection of modern accessories and peripherals.

The design of the Retro X5 is inspired by classic gaming consoles. The chassis uses retro colors and styling that remind users of early home gaming systems. This nostalgic look is intended for people who enjoy vintage console design but still want modern computer performance.
