HP OMEN 35L Listing Reveals Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU

A new HP OMEN 35L HyperX gaming desktop has appeared online featuring an unannounced Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus processor, suggesting that Intel’s Arrow Lake Refresh desktop lineup may be nearing release.

The listing was discovered on HP’s official online store for Australia and later shared by hardware leakers. The configuration shows the upcoming processor paired with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, part of Intel’s Core Ultra desktop processor lineup, 16GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The product page lists the system at AUD $5,499, although this figure likely reflects a regional configuration or placeholder price rather than final global pricing.

The listing is notable because Intel has not officially announced any “Plus” versions of its Core Ultra 200 desktop processors. However, recent leaks and benchmark entries have referenced the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus and Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, indicating that Intel may be preparing a refresh of its Arrow Lake desktop lineup.

The HP configuration lists the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus with boost speeds up to 5.4 GHz, 36MB of L3 cache, and a 24-core, 24-thread design.

Based on earlier reports, the processor is expected to use an 8 Performance core and 16 Efficient core configuration. This layout is similar to higher-tier Arrow Lake chips but includes additional Efficient cores compared with the current Core Ultra 7 265K.

If accurate, the updated design would add four more Efficient cores and additional cache compared with the 265K, suggesting the refresh may focus on improving multi-threaded CPU performance rather than increasing clock speeds alone.

The HP store page also reveals additional system specifications. The desktop includes an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card with 12GB of GDDR7 memory, part of the RTX 5070 laptop GPU lineup recently spotted in ASUS and Lenovo systems, which is part of NVIDIA’s Blackwell-based RTX 50-series lineup.

Other specifications include 16GB of DDR5 memory, which is now standard for modern gaming desktops, a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, Bluetooth 6.0 support, and multiple display outputs including HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1.

The system runs Windows 11 Home and appears to use an updated OMEN chassis design that emphasizes airflow and tool-less upgrade access. HP also highlights support for customizable RGB lighting and system controls through OMEN Gaming Hub.

Separate benchmark data has also surfaced for the rumored Core Ultra 5 250K Plus processor. Early PassMark results show a multi-thread score of roughly 50,478 and a single-thread rating around 4,854, placing it within the upper range of current desktop CPU benchmark results.

Because the results are based on a limited number of submissions, they should not be treated as final performance figures. However, they provide an early indication of what Intel’s refreshed desktop chips may deliver.

The appearance of both the OMEN system listing and benchmark entries suggests that Intel’s Arrow Lake Refresh announcement could be approaching. Some reports indicate the company may unveil the updated processors in March, with independent reviews expected shortly afterward.

If that timeline proves accurate, the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus would likely sit near the top of Intel’s refreshed desktop stack. Earlier rumors suggested a Core Ultra 9 290K Plus model was planned but may have been canceled, potentially making the 270K Plus the highest-end refresh processor available.

For desktop builders and gamers, the refresh appears to focus on improving multi-core performance while keeping the existing Arrow Lake platform intact. This means continued support for modern features such as DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0 connectivity, and integrated AI acceleration through Intel’s NPU architecture.

Until Intel formally confirms the processors, the specifications and release timeline remain based on retailer listings and industry leaks rather than official announcements.
