Intel i7-13645HX Launched: Raptor Lake HX with DDR5-5600

Intel has introduced a new high-performance laptop processor, the Core i7-13645HX. It belongs to the Raptor Lake HX series and targets gaming laptops as well as creator-focused systems.

You get 14 cores here, with boost speeds going up to 4.9GHz and support for DDR5-5600 memory. It basically fits between the i7-13650HX and i7-13700HX, offering a balanced option in this performance range.

Intel is using its hybrid setup again 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores. That adds up to 20 threads, so it can handle heavy tasks without slowing down everyday performance.

It runs at a base power of 55W and can go up to 157W under full load. This means it is built for powerful laptops with proper cooling, especially for tasks like video editing, 3D work, and modern gaming.

The chip supports DDR5-5600, which is faster than what we usually see in this segment. It can handle up to 192GB of RAM and offers higher bandwidth as well.

How It Compares to Other HX Processors

Core i7-13650HX14 / 204.9 GHz24 MBDDR5-4800
Core i7-13700HX16 / 245.0 GHz30 MBDDR5-5600

The integrated graphics is Intel UHD with 32 execution units. It is not meant for heavy gaming, but it can easily handle media, light games, and basic creative work without a dedicated GPU.

For more demanding graphics workloads, dedicated GPUs such as the NVIDIA RTX 5050 laptop GPU offer significantly higher performance in gaming and rendering tasks.

This processor fills an important gap. It offers similar core performance to nearby models but improves memory speed, which can make a noticeable difference in some workloads.

This processor looks similar to other HX chips, but the faster DDR5-5600 memory does make a difference. With higher bandwidth (up to 89.6 GB/s), it can deliver better performance in tasks like gaming, video editing, and heavy multitasking.

The core count is the same as the Core i7-13650HX, but the memory upgrade gives it a slight edge in real-world usage. Intel has also added slightly better integrated graphics with 32 execution units, which helps with light creative work and casual gaming if you’re not using a dedicated GPU.

Overall, the Core i7-13645HX sits comfortably between mid-range and high-end HX chips, offering a good balance of performance and pricing for laptop makers.
