AUO is preparing to showcase a new generation of display technologies at Touch Taiwan 2026, led by what it describes as the world’s first 24-inch Full HD gaming monitor capable of reaching an 800Hz refresh rate.
With this gaming monitor AUO targets competitive gaming where motion clarity and latency matter most, a direction already seen in ultra-high refresh displays like the AOC AGON Pro AGP277QK 1000Hz dual-mode monitor. Current esports displays typically peak between 360Hz and 540Hz, making the jump to 800Hz a significant step forward in high-refresh-rate performance.
Alongside this, AUO is also introducing high-resolution panels built around dual-mode operation, we have seen similar implementations in displays like the Philips Evnia 32M2N8900X 4K 240Hz OLED monitor. A 32-inch 4K display supports refresh rates up to 360Hz, while a 27-inch 5K panel reaches 180Hz. Both can shift between resolution and refresh rate depending on workload, allowing users to prioritize image detail or speed without switching devices.
AUO is also showing a 16-inch LTPS laptop panel that can drop to 1Hz and scale up to 165Hz depending on usage. A separate 16-inch FHD iTP TDDI touch panel is part of the lineup, aimed at lower power operation in mobile devices.
Beyond gaming and laptops, Micro LED remains a major part of AUO’s roadmap. The company is using the event to highlight how the technology is moving beyond concept stages into real-world applications. A 54-inch transparent display integrated into a retail showcase allows digital content and physical products to appear together in the same view, while maintaining high brightness and color accuracy.
AUO is also showing a rollable Micro LED display that can be folded away when not in use and expanded when needed. This makes it useful in places where space is limited, such as vehicles. In public transport, a 16.1-inch transparent display can show information on both sides of a train door while still letting people see through it.
These developments reflect a shift toward display designed for AI-driven interaction. High refresh rates support faster visual feedback, while power-saving panels and transparent displays expand how screens are used across devices and environments.
AUO will present its full lineup at Touch Taiwan 2026, scheduled to take place from April 8 to April 10 in Taipei.
