AceMagic introduces the Retro X5, a compact mini PC with an NES-inspired design and AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, combining a retro look with current-generation integrated graphics performance, similar we have seen in the AceMagic Retro X5.
The hardware includes a 12-core, 24-thread Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU paired with Radeon 890M graphics based on RDNA 3.5 with 16 compute units. This chip belongs to AMD’s Strix Point lineup and improves on earlier Radeon 780M graphics found in compact PCs.
In testing shared by ETA Prime, Cyberpunk 2077 reaches around 70 FPS on medium settings with FSR enabled, while Forza Horizon 5 delivers between 60 and 80 FPS at 1440p depending on settings, comparable to results seen on compact mini pc like the Tianbei Maco 47 with Ryzen AI 9 HX470.
The same hardware also supports higher-end emulation workloads, including PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Switch titles depending on the game and setup.
The base variant includes 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD. Storage expansion is available through dual M.2 2280 slots, allowing upgrades up to 4TB.
The chassis measures 138 × 128 × 45 mm and follows a console-inspired layout with a gray and black finish and a front-mounted red power button, closely resembling a compact NES-style design.
Connectivity includes HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.0, and a USB4 Type-C port. Additional ports include multiple USB 3.2 Type-A and Type-C connections, along with a 3.5 mm audio jack. Dual 2.5Gb Ethernet ports are included for wired networking, while wireless support includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The USB4 connection also supports external GPU setups, offering an upgrade path beyond the integrated Radeon 890M, a feature also present in the mini pc like the GMKtec EVO-T2.
AceMagic lists the Retro X5 at $1,399, with promotional pricing dropping it to $999 through limited-time discounts and stock availability.
