Dell Pro Micro Thin Client Q9M1260 Launches With Fanless 7W Intel Platform

Dell is bringing a new ultra-compact thin client called the Pro Micro Q9M1260. It runs on Intel’s Twin Lake chips and stays around 7W power, which makes a fully silent, fanless design possible.

Intel N150, N250, and Core 3 N350 configurations are available. The Core 3 version carries more efficiency cores, which helps during heavier remote desktop sessions.

This type of system is built for virtual desktops where stability, low power use, and silent operation matter more than raw speed as seen in the AAEON Intelli TWL01 edge fanless industrial PC.

The body measures 182 × 178 × 36 mm and weighs about 1.96 lbs (0.89 kg). It can be placed on a desk or mounted behind a monitor.

Inside, there are two M.2 2230 slots. One handles storage with PCIe Gen3 or UFS support. The other is used for wireless modules such as Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7. Memory goes up to 16GB DDR5 and runs in single-channel mode.

Ports change depending on configuration. Options cover HDMI, DisplayPort, USB expansion, and older interfaces. Some setups also include a 1GbE optical fiber module, which is uncommon for systems this size.

Up to five displays can be connected, including multiple 4K outputs depending on the selected port layout.

A 65W USB-C adapter handles power delivery. With no fan inside, there are fewer moving parts, which helps reduce maintenance in long-running setups.

Dell ThinOS 10 and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise are available for managed environments. TPM and chassis intrusion detection are also part of the system.

Pricing depends on region and configuration. In the US, it ranges from about $966 to $1,748. Europe starts around €731, the UK around £646, and Canada around CAD 2,147.

This model fits into enterprise setups where small size, low power use, and continuous operation are more important than performance.
