Playnix has introduced a compact gaming PC that brings desktop-class hardware to a console-sized body. The new Playnix Console combines a Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB graphics card with a 6-core Ryzen 5 processor and ships with an 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller for €1,139.
Inside is a Radeon RX 9060 XT with 32 compute units and a 150W board power rating, paired with a 65W Ryzen 5 chip. That gives the system a clear step up from handheld gaming devices and mini PCs that rely on integrated graphics, including newer compact desktop designs.
Memory comes with 16GB DDR4-3200 in dual-channel mode, while storage starts with a 512GB NVMe SSD, a common starting point for modern gaming PCs. A second M.2 2280 slot is available for more storage later. Playnix says nearly every internal part can be replaced, giving owners room to upgrade over time.
The machine runs PlaynixOS, an Arch Linux-based platform built for gamepad use in the living room, similar to other PC-based console alternatives. Buyers who prefer something else can also install Windows, Bazzite, SteamOS-style alternatives, or other supported systems.
Cooling comes from Noctua and Thermalright fans, while power is supplied by a 600W Flex PSU. Playnix recommends future upgrades up to 180W graphics cards and 65W processors within the limits of the enclosure.
Ports include USB-C 3.1, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.1, and DisplayPort 2.1. The company lists HDR output up to 4K at 120Hz or 8K at 60Hz. Wireless support includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5, features now common across premium compact PCs.
The case measures 320 × 247 × 64 mm (12.6 × 9.7 × 2.5 inches) and is made with a 3D-printed shell. Playnix notes that minor cosmetic marks or small color differences may appear as part of the production process.

Playnix claims the PC can outperform Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, while coming close to PlayStation 5 Pro-class performance. It also says games such as Cyberpunk 2077 can reach 4K 60 FPS on High settings with FSR or XeSS Quality presets. Those figures come from the company and have not been independently verified.
The Playnix Console Batch #2 is available now for €1,139. Lead times are currently listed at more than two weeks.
For buyers who want a living-room gaming system with upgradeable PC hardware, broader software freedom, and console-style convenience, Playnix is offering something standard consoles do not.
