ASUS Zenbook A14 Packs Snapdragon X2 Elite, OLED, 990g Weight

ASUS has updated the Zenbook A14 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite, pairing a 990g chassis with a 14-inch OLED screen and claimed 33-hour battery life. That puts it among the lightest Copilot+ laptops currently announced.

Portability remains the headline feature, an area where recent ultraportable business notebooks have also focused heavily. ASUS lists the Zenbook A14 at 2.18 lbs (990 g), making it lighter than many 13-inch and 14-inch rivals, including Apple’s MacBook Air 13, which weighs over 1.2 kg.

nside is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite with an 18-core CPU clocked up to 4.7GHz, one of several new ARM-based chips entering premium laptops this year. ASUS also lists an 80 TOPS NPU for Copilot+ features, alongside Adreno integrated graphics. The platform is rated at up to 35W and up to 152 GB/s memory bandwidth.

The laptop carries a 14-inch Full HD ASUS Lumina OLED panel with HDR support and low blue light certifications, continuing the wider shift toward OLED displays in premium notebooks. ASUS pairs the display with dual super-linear speakers for stronger audio than many ultraportables.

Memory and storage options vary by region, with configurations listed up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.

Battery capacity stands at 70Wh, a sizable pack for a sub-1kg notebook in this category. ASUS claims more than 33 hours of local video playback under internal testing, while fast charging can bring the battery to 50% in 30 minutes with the bundled charger. Actual runtime will vary depending on brightness, apps, and wireless activity.

ASUS also state that cooling system stays below 25 dB during light workloads, which could make the Zenbook A14 one of the quieter fan-cooled Windows laptops in this class.

Ports include USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, USB4 Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack, while broader connectivity trends continue to favor USB4-equipped laptops. ASUS also says supported setups can run up to four displays.

European pricing starts at around €1,500 for a model with Snapdragon X2 Elite and 32GB RAM. Availability depends on region.
