Colorful has introduced the BATTLE-AX HM770M-K WIFI D5 V20, a Micro-ATX motherboard that pairs a 24-core Intel Core i9-13900HX mobile processor with a desktop platform through a Mobile-on-Desktop (MoDT) design.
The board comes with the Core i9-13900HX soldered in place, delivering 24 cores and 32 threads with boost clocks up to 5.4GHz and a 55W TDP, based on the Intel Core i7-13645HX platform. The chip also includes 36MB of L3 cache. Desktop cooling solutions are supported despite the mobile origin of the processor.
MoDT platforms combine mobile CPUs with desktop motherboards, allowing lower power consumption while maintaining compatibility with discrete GPUs and standard DDR5 memory, similar configurations are discussed in GMKtec EVO-T2 mini PC.
The board offers the Intel HM770 chipset and supports dual-channel DDR5 memory through two DIMM slots. Capacity reaches up to 96GB, with speeds up to DDR5-6400 via XMP, alongside support for DDR5-4800 base configurations.
Storage includes two M.2 slots, both running at PCIe 4.0 x4, consistent with speeds seen in MSI Spatium M571 PCIe 5 SSD. The primary slot connects directly to the CPU, while the second is routed through the chipset. Two SATA 6Gbps ports are also available for additional drives.
Expansion is limited compared to traditional desktop boards, with one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for graphics cards and one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot for add-in cards.
The Micro-ATX layout measures 237 × 184 mm, allowing compatibility with compact cases while supporting full-size GPUs.
Rear I/O includes four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 ports, along with HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 outputs, matching connectivity options outlined in UGREEN Thunderbolt 5 docking stations. Networking is handled by Realtek RTL8111H Gigabit Ethernet and Intel AX101 Wi-Fi 6, with Bluetooth 5.2 support.

This is Colorful’s first entry into the MoDT motherboard segment, joining similar designs from vendors such as Minisforum and Erying that also use Intel HX-series processors in desktop formats.
Pricing and availability have not been announced.
