Keychron’s P6 Ultra 8K arrives as a full-size wireless mechanical keyboard with a rare mix of features: 8,000Hz polling, a tool-free aluminum case, and battery life that can stretch for months on a single charge.
The standout detail is the quick-open design. The top frame is held in place by magnetic latches and a ball-catch mechanism, so the keyboard can be opened in seconds without screws, a design direction explored in Dareu FK98 keyboard. That makes it easy to swap switches, adjust foam layers, or clean the internals. The trade-off is a slightly taller front height, which reaches about 22.25 mm.
Inside, the keyboard runs on ZMK firmware and works with Keychron’s web-based Launcher, following trends seen in Keychron Q5 HE 8K gaming keyboard. Key mapping, macros, lighting, and polling settings can be adjusted directly from a browser, without installing extra software. A programmable knob is also built in, adding quick control for volume, zoom, or custom shortcuts.
For performance, the P6 Ultra 8K pushes polling up to 8,000Hz in both wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes, matching figures reported for Dareu Ultra 75 keyboard. Most keyboards still sit at 1,000Hz, which means a 1ms response interval. At 8,000Hz, that drops to 0.125ms, cutting the time between key input and on-screen action. It is a feature more commonly seen on gaming keyboards than on full-size custom boards.
Battery life is one of the biggest highlights, a focus area across wireless designs like Keychron V10 Ultra wireless keyboard. The 4,000mAh battery is rated for up to 660 hours with the backlight turned off. With RGB lighting set to low brightness, it still reaches around 200 hours. Based on typical daily use of a few hours, that can translate to several months before needing a recharge.

The build leans heavily toward a premium feel. The chassis is made from full aluminum and paired with a gasket mount structure. Inside, layers of IXPE, PET, and latex foam help soften the typing feel and reduce unwanted noise. The result is a quieter and more controlled sound compared to basic tray-mounted designs.
Hot-swappable sockets are included, allowing most 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style switches to be installed without soldering, a standard feature in boards. Keychron ships the board with its Silk POM switches, available in linear, tactile, and early-bump variants. These switches are pre-lubed and designed for smoother keystrokes out of the box.
The keyboard also comes with Cherry profile double-shot PBT keycaps, along with south-facing RGB lighting and more than 20 lighting effects. Extra keycaps are included for both Windows and macOS layouts, and the keyboard can store separate layouts for different platforms.
Connectivity covers wired USB-C, 2.4GHz wireless for low-latency use, and Bluetooth 5.3 for multi-device setups. It can pair with multiple devices and switch between them quickly, making it suitable for both desktop and mobile use.

Full-size keyboards with 8K polling are still uncommon, especially those that can be opened without tools. Many boards offer either high polling or easy customization, but rarely both together in a 100% layout. That is where the P6 Ultra 8K stands apart.
The Keychron P6 Ultra 8K is available in black and is priced at $199.99 through Keychron’s official store, with some listings appearing closer to $179.99 on retail platforms. Availability is live now.
