YUNZII releases the X98 Solid Milky White mechanical keyboard with a 96% 98-key layout, tri-mode wireless connectivity, QMK/VIA customization support, and an 8000mAh battery. The keyboard shifts away from the company’s transparent acrylic styling and moves toward a glossy white design paired with translucent jelly-style keycaps, side-printed legends, and stronger RGB diffusion across the board.
The X98 offers wired USB Type-C mode together with 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. YUNZII claims the keyboard can pair with up to five devices simultaneously across different connection modes.
A programmable rotary knob sits near the upper-right section of the keyboard and works directly through QMK and VIA customization software. Users can remap keys, assign macros, customize lighting behavior, and configure multiple profiles through VIA firmware controls. The default knob function controls audio volume adjustment.
The keyboard carries a gasket-mounted internal structure paired with five layers of sound-dampening materials designed around softer keystrokes and deeper typing acoustics. YUNZII further pairs the board with factory pre-lubed stabilizers and pre-lubed switches out of the box.
Buyers can choose between Snow Linear switches and YUNZII Crystal Linear switches depending on configuration. The board supports hot-swappable sockets compatible with both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches for later customization.
YUNZII X98 comes with south-facing RGB LEDs supporting 16.8 million lighting colors. The keyboard further carries OEM-profile double-shot ABS and PC keycaps with translucent side-printed legends designed specifically for brighter jelly-style RGB lighting effects.
The physical design keeps a relatively compact footprint while preserving a dedicated number pad inside the 96% layout. Full-key NKRO support remains available across the board.
The keyboard measures roughly 390.5 mm wide and weighs around 1.27 kg (2.8 lbs), giving it a denser and heavier feel compared with many lightweight wireless gaming keyboards currently shipping in similar size categories.
Battery capacity is 8000mAh, placing the X98 among the larger-battery wireless mechanical keyboards currently available in the mid-range enthusiast category. The larger battery targets longer runtime while running RGB lighting and wireless connectivity together.
YUNZII currently lists the X98 Solid Milky White at a discounted price of $109.99 through the company’s online store, down from the listed $129.99 retail price.
