ASUS Adds RTX 5080 TUF BTF Cards with Hidden Power Connectors

ASUS has expanded its graphics card lineup with two new GeForce RTX 5080 models featuring hidden power connectors. The new TUF Gaming cards utilize the company’s proprietary BTF (Back-To-the-Future) interface, which plugs directly into motherboard slots to hide visible power cables.

The upcoming graphics cards are listed as a standard TUF Gaming model and a factory overclocked edition. The overclocked card is rated to reach a core frequency of 2730 MHz, offering a high speed option for PC builders who want clean cable management inside their cases.

The key feature of the TUF Gaming BTF cards is the inclusion of both a standard 16-pin power connector and a dedicated GC-HPWR connector. This dual support means you can use a normal power cable from your power supply, or plug the card directly into a compatible motherboard slot.

The GC-HPWR slot connector on the motherboard is designed to handle up to 1000 watts of power. This setup provides plenty of electrical headroom for overclocking the graphics card without needing any thick, visible cables running across the front of the system.

These new products follow recent market movements where ASUS shifted production focus toward the flagship RTX 5080 family. The BTF models are designed to work best with matching motherboards, which feature connectors on the backside of the PCB to make the interior look clean.

Both new cards are built using Nvidia’s Blackwell GPU architecture, which handles heavy lighting calculations and artificial intelligence tasks in modern games. The cards are equipped with 16 GB of fast GDDR7 memory to store high-resolution textures.
