Biostar B850MS-E AM5 Motherboard Pairs PCIe 5.0 with Wi-Fi 7

Biostar’s new B850MS-E Micro ATX motherboard supports AMD Socket AM5 processors, including the Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series. The entry-level board integrates PCIe 5.0 M.2 storage and DDR5 memory compatibility to help users build budget-focused PC configurations.

The Micro ATX board measures 23.5 by 24.4 cm, making it suitable for compact home workstation setups or living room media PCs. Similar to the ASUS TUF Gaming Z890 BTF, this board targets users who want modern wireless connectivity options in a clean build.

The motherboard supports up to 128 GB of dual-channel DDR5 memory across two DIMM slots, reaching overclocked speeds of DDR5-8000+ MT/s. It includes compatibility for both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP profiles to simplify memory setup. For expansion cards, the board has one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for graphics cards and a single PCIe 4.0 x1 slot for accessory cards.

Storage options include one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot for high-speed NVMe SSDs and a secondary PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slot powered by the B850 chipset. It also includes two SATA III ports that support RAID 0, 1, and 10 configurations. The rear IO panel carries one HDMI port, one DisplayPort output, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and a Gigabit LAN connection.

For wireless setups, the board supports optional Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6E modules via a dedicated M.2 E-key slot, though the wireless card is sold separately. Helpful maintenance features include a Debug LED for troubleshooting, an M.2 Anchor for screwless SSD installation, and a dedicated button to update the BIOS. Biostar has not yet disclosed pricing or release dates for the B850MS-E motherboard.
