Drakong Releases The Challenger Wired Controller for Xbox and PC With Hall Effect Sticks

Drakong has entered the gaming accessories market with its first controller, the Challenger. Built for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11 PCs, the wired gamepad features Hall Effect thumbsticks and triggers, two programmable rear buttons, official Xbox licensing, and a detachable 10-foot USB-C cable. Shipments begin on July 9, with pricing set at $34.99 in the United States.

Drakong is a new gaming brand created by Hyperkin, a company known for licensed gaming accessories and retro gaming hardware. The Challenger is the first product under the Drakong name and marks the company’s entry into the growing market for Hall Effect controllers.

The controller comes with Hall Effect thumbsticks that rely on magnetic sensors instead of physical contact. Drakong says this design helps reduce stick drift caused by wear over time. According to the company, the thumbsticks are rated for up to five million rotations.

Hall Effect technology is used in the analog triggers as well. The controller supports Impulse Triggers, allowing each trigger to produce its own vibration in supported Xbox games. Players can feel effects such as braking, acceleration, weapon recoil, and changing road surfaces directly through the triggers instead of the entire controller vibrating at once.

On the back are two programmable buttons that can be assigned to different commands. Their placement allows players to activate mapped functions while keeping their thumbs on the analog sticks, making extra controls easier to reach during gameplay.

The Challenger follows the familiar Xbox button layout and features a traditional D-pad. Laser-textured grips cover the handles, bumpers, and triggers to provide a firmer hold during long gaming sessions. Under the ABXY buttons, Drakong has fitted a durable membrane that the company says is built for repeated button presses over extended use.

A 3.5mm headset jack is built into the controller, allowing compatible wired headsets to connect directly for voice chat and in-game audio. Every unit comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty. New Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can redeem one free month of the subscription service, giving access to Microsoft’s library of console and PC games.

The detachable 10-foot USB-C cable provides a wired connection for Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. Official Xbox licensing confirms compatibility with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11 without requiring additional software or adapters.

The Drakong Challenger will be available in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Pricing starts at $34.99 in the US, £29.99 in the UK, and €34.99 across Europe.
