Patriot Launches Viper Steel 5 Infinite DDR5 DRAM With 8000 MT/s and Infinite Mirror RGB

Patriot Memory is adding a new option to its Viper desktop memory family with the Viper Steel 5 Infinite DDR5 series. The new modules reach speeds of up to 8000 MT/s, support both Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO, and come in capacities up to 96GB. Patriot has replaced the older Viper Steel 4 DDR4 series with faster DDR5 memory and a new Infinite Mirror RGB light bar.

Buyers can choose 32GB, 48GB, or 96GB dual-channel kits. Patriot lists tested profiles at 6000 MT/s, 6400 MT/s, 7200 MT/s, and 8000 MT/s. Standard JEDEC DDR5-5600 support remains available, while the fastest profiles run at up to 1.45V.

The new Infinite Mirror light bar gives the modules a different look from previous Viper memory. A layered optical design creates a deeper lighting effect without making the heat spreader taller. RGB lighting works with Patriot Viper RGB software, SignalRGB, ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, and ASRock Polychrome RGB. Patriot is offering both RGB and non-RGB versions.

Each memory module comes with an aluminium heat spreader, thermal pads, a multi-layer PCB, hand-screened memory chips, and an unlocked PMIC. These parts help maintain stable operation when running higher memory speeds.

The jump to DDR5 increases memory bandwidth and raises the maximum kit size to 96GB. Larger kits are useful for video editing, 3D rendering, software development, virtual machines, and other memory-heavy desktop workloads. Patriot lists local AI inference and deep learning among the supported applications.

Intel users can enable XMP 3.0 profiles, while AMD users have EXPO support. Patriot lists speeds of up to 8000 MT/s on supported Intel platforms and up to 6400 MT/s on supported AMD platforms. The memory is compatible with AMD OPP optimization for Ryzen 9000 processors.

Patriot manufactures the Viper Steel 5 Infinite series in Taiwan. Every module goes through automated optical inspection and burn-in testing before shipping. The memory is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Patriot has not shared pricing or a retail availability date. Those details will be announced later.
