AMD Users Report Radeon RX 6000 Adrenalin Software Freezes

AMD graphics card users are complaining about unexpected freezes and interface lags within the Adrenalin control software. On Reddit, owners of computers carrying Radeon GPUs report that the control window lags heavily and becomes unresponsive. These lags are particularly common among Radeon RX 6000 series owners, including users of the Radeon RX 6900 XT.

While the software becomes completely unusable for adjusting performance parameters and undervolting, normal Windows 11 desktop windows continue to run smoothly. Standard troubleshooting steps, such as resetting the software or performing a clean driver installation, fail to resolve the issue for most owners. Even after using dedicated cleaning tools like Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) or the AMD Cleanup Utility, the interface lag returns once the full driver version 32.0.21043.19003 is installed.

Users report that installing the package in Minimal Install or Drivers Only mode prevents the control panel from freezing. However, this workaround deprives users of access to fine-tuning settings and monitoring performance metrics. On the other hand, the driver bug also causes related failures in the Windows 11 operating platform, such as the disappearance of the Hardware Accelerated Graphics Scheduling (HAGS) option.

Online communities suggest the freeze often triggers when the computer resumes from sleep or hibernation modes. While a simple computer reboot can temporarily fix the interface response, a permanent solution remains unavailable. Affected owners of these graphics cards will need to wait for a official hotfix driver release from AMD to restore full software control.
