ASUS has officially launched the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5090D V2 in China, according to a new listing on NVIDIA’s official China website. The listing confirms that the graphics card is now available on the market and that distribution has commenced.
The RTX 5090D V2 is a China-exclusive version of NVIDIA’s flagship RTX 5090. While it uses the same high-end GPU core, its memory configuration has been adjusted to meet export regulations.
What This Launch Confirms About NVIDIA’s China Strategy
This launch clearly demonstrates how NVIDIA and its partners are navigating export regulations for China.
Instead of reducing GPU performance by cutting down on processing cores, NVIDIA is limiting memory capacity and bandwidth while retaining the full GB202 GPU core. This allows manufacturers to continue offering near-flagship performance in China without shipping the full global configuration.
This differs from previous China-specific graphics cards, which often featured reductions in both memory and compute hardware.
Same GPU Core as Global RTX 5090
According to the official listing, the RTX 5090D V2 uses the same GB202 GPU found in the standard RTX 5090. This means the card keeps 21,760 CUDA cores, so raw processing power remains unchanged.
The main difference is the memory setup.
The RTX 5090D V2 comes with:
- 24GB of GDDR7 memory
- 384-bit memory bus
The global RTX 5090 uses 32GB of memory on a wider 512-bit bus. By reducing memory size and bus width, NVIDIA lowers total memory bandwidth while keeping the main GPU hardware the same.
ASUS TUF Gaming Design Focuses on Stability and Cooling
ASUS has paired the RTX 5090D V2 with its well-known TUF Gaming design, which is built for durability and long-term use.
Key features include:
- A triple-fan cooling system
- A reinforced metal frame to prevent bending
- Protective PCB coating for extra durability
- Phase-change thermal pads to improve heat transfer
These features are designed to keep temperatures stable during long gaming sessions and heavy workloads.

Pricing Listed on NVIDIA China Website
On NVIDIA’s official Chinese website, the RTX 5090D V2 is listed with a starting price of 16,499 RMB, which is approximately $2,343 USD at the current exchange rate (22th December 2025).
ASUS has not yet announced the exact retail release date, but the official listing strongly suggests that shipments to retailers have already begun.
Availability is limited to China
For now, the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5090D V2 is confirmed only for the Chinese market. There is no indication that this model will be released in other regions, such as the USA, UK, and globally.
More details are expected as ASUS begins wider retail sales and additional store listings appear.
The launch of the RTX 5090D V2 confirms that NVIDIA can still offer near-flagship GPUs in China by adjusting the memory configuration without reducing the GPU core count. This approach maintains high gaming performance while staying within export restrictions.
It also demonstrates that NVIDIA and ASUS are committed to maintaining a high-end graphics card lineup in China despite strict trade restrictions.
