Gigabyte Lists B850 AORUS ELITE X3D Motherboard With BIOS Updates

The Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE X3D motherboard is now official and appears on the company’s retail website. The new AM5 board supports AMD Ryzen 9000, Ryzen 8000, and Ryzen 7000 desktop processors. Gigabyte includes its latest AGESA 1.3.0.1b BIOS update out of the box to help optimize memory performance and latency.

Attentive builders will note that this model shares several key specifications with previous AORUS designs but adds several upgrades for gaming. However, this board targets builders who want a middle-tier platform with premium power handling.

The main addition to this board is the X3D Turbo Mode 2.0 technology. Gigabyte uses a built-in AI model and hardware circuits to optimize processor parameters in real time for gaming. The utility includes Extreme Gaming Mode and Max Performance Mode profiles to help boost frame rates by up to 25%.

In addition to CPU tuning, the board includes D5 Bionic Corsa and Zenith Memory features for DDR5 overclocking. The board has four DIMM slots that support up to 256 GB of DDR5 memory at speeds up to 8200 MT/s. The ATX form factor measures 30.5 x 24.4 cm (12.01 x 9.61 in) and fits standard desktop enclosures.

The power delivery uses a 16+2+2 phase digital VRM layout powered by dual 8-pin CPU power connectors. For expansion, the board includes one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for graphics cards and four M.2 slots for fast storage. Two of the M.2 slots connect directly to the CPU using PCIe 5.0 lanes, while the other two connect through the chipset at PCIe 4.0 speeds.

For networking, Gigabyte offers an upgraded 5GbE LAN port and Wi-Fi 7 wireless connectivity. The rear I/O panel includes two USB Type-C ports, an HDMI connector, and physical buttons for BIOS flashing and CMOS clearing. Gigabyte has not yet shared official pricing or a global release date for this motherboard.
