Google Search Faces Server Error on Mobile and Desktop on May 12

Google Search appeared to face a temporary outage on May 12, as search queries stopped working across both desktop and mobile devices. During testing, searches on Chrome browser and mobile Google Search returned a “Server Error” message instead of displaying results.

We (PCVenus Team) attempting to search for terms such as “ASMedia Z68T” and “f1” were greeted with the following message:

“We’re sorry but it appears that there has been an internal server error while processing your request. Our engineers have been notified and are working to resolve the issue.”

The issue was observed on both Windows desktop browsers and Android smartphones, suggesting the problem was not limited to a single platform, browser, or internet connection. Refreshing the page and retrying searches did not immediately fix the error at the time of testing.

The outage appears to be affecting normal Google Search functionality rather than specific websites or keywords. Some users may also experience intermittent loading issues while trying to access search results.

Google has not yet published an official statement regarding the temporary search disruption. However, the error page itself confirms that Google engineers are aware of the problem and are working on a fix.

As of now, it remains unclear how widespread the outage is or how long recovery will take.
