LG Electronics has officially introduced the LG Gram 14 (2026) in Japan, refreshing its flagship 14-inch ultraportable with AMD’s new Ryzen AI 400 processors, a magnesium alloy chassis, a large 72Wh battery, and extended warranty coverage of up to five years. The new model begins shipping in late February, marking one of the earliest commercial laptops powered by AMD’s second-generation Ryzen AI platform.

The updated Gram 14 measures just 15.7 mm thick and weighs 2.47 lb (1.12 kg), maintaining LG’s long-standing emphasis on extreme portability without reducing battery capacity.

In the premium 14-inch segment, most competitors either exceed 2.65 lb (1.2 kg) or ship with smaller batteries. LG continues to position the Gram line around mobility, endurance, and structural rigidity using lightweight magnesium construction.

Unlike many thin-and-light laptops that compromise battery size to reduce weight, the 2026 Gram 14 retains a 72Wh battery across the lineup.

In this weight category, 72Wh is unusually large and significantly above what most 13- and 14-inch ultrabooks offer. While LG has not yet published official runtime figures for this exact Ryzen AI configuration, previous Gram models with similar capacity have delivered full-day productivity endurance under mixed workloads.

Powering the new model are AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 450 and Ryzen AI 5 435 processors, part of the Ryzen AI 400 series.

Advanced Micro Devices integrates dedicated neural processing hardware into these chips, enabling on-device AI workloads such as background blur, real-time transcription, generative image tasks, and local inference without relying entirely on cloud processing. As Microsoft and OEM partners push Copilot+ PC branding in 2026, systems built on Ryzen AI silicon are positioned to compete directly against Intel’s Core Ultra AI platforms.

The display remains practical rather than flashy, featuring a 14-inch IPS panel with 1920 × 1200 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and approximately 350 nits peak brightness.

While some competitors are shifting toward OLED panels, LG’s IPS approach favors efficiency and balanced battery life. For productivity users, this configuration remains aligned with Gram’s core strengths: lightweight construction and long runtime.

Memory options scale up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM with storage configurations reaching 512GB NVMe SSD. Entry variants pair the Ryzen AI 5 435 with 16GB memory and 256GB or 512GB storage. Given the ultrathin form factor, memory is likely soldered, consistent with prior Gram models.

Japanese pricing ranges from JPY 251,820 to JPY 349,800, depending on configuration. LG Japan is offering pre-orders through its official store platform.

Global availability is expected later in 2026, although regional pricing outside Japan has not yet been confirmed.

One of the most notable competitive advantages is LG’s extended warranty coverage. Customers who purchase and register the device through the official online store can receive up to 5 years of warranty protection.

In a premium laptop segment where most devices ship with 1 year of standard warranty coverage, this significantly improves long-term ownership value and reinforces LG’s durability claims.
