Apple’s rumored MacBook Neo 2 could launch in 2027 with 12GB of unified memory. The reported configuration would increase memory capacity by 50% compared to the 8GB found in the current MacBook Neo.
The MacBook Neo 2 could become the least expensive Mac capable of running Apple’s AFM 3 Core Advanced model locally. Support for that model is the primary reason the reported memory increase has attracted attention.
AFM 3 Core Advanced reportedly contains around 20 billion parameters and is associated with Apple Intelligence features such as Dynamic Voice and Advanced Dictation. The model requires more memory than Apple’s current entry-level MacBook Neo is believed to provide.
The first-generation MacBook Neo launched with Apple’s A18 Pro chip and 8GB of unified memory. According to the information, the A18 Pro platform is limited to an 8GB memory configuration, while the successor is expected to transition to the newer A19 Pro processor and support 12GB of unified memory.

The same report points to a 2027 launch window for the second-generation MacBook Neo, although Apple has not announced a successor to the current model. No specifications, pricing details, or release plans have been confirmed by the company.
Apple has not publicly acknowledged the rumored device, and the reported memory upgrade, A19 Pro transition, and AFM 3 Core Advanced support remain unconfirmed industry claims.
