Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3: Price and Availability
Microsoft officially launched its new laptop Microsoft Surface Go 3 on September 21, 2023. General availability and shipping will start from October 3, 2023.
The base price of the laptop starts at $799 in the US which will get you 8GB RAM with 256GB SSD and i5-1235U. Other variants are also available with different specifications, including up to 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage.
This laptop is available on the official website of Microsoft, you can order it directly from here.
Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3: Display
Microsoft has launched the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 like its predecessor. Talking about its display specifications, the laptop sports a 12.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen panel with a 3:2 aspect ratio that enhances the user experience. Also compatible with the touchscreen Surface Slim Pen
Its display has a resolution of 1536 x 1024 pixels ensuring sharp and vibrant visuals. Furthermore, it achieves a peak brightness of 320 nits, which contributes to a clear and visible screen even outdoors.
Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3: Battery
Talking about its battery, it has a 41-watt Lithium Ion battery. Along with this, a 39W adapter is provided, which will help charge your laptop Fast.
Microsoft says that once the Laptop Go 3 is fully charged, it will last for 15 hours. It could be just video playback, it could actually be mixed-use. The previous Surface Laptop Go 2 was said to last 13 hours but in reality, it lasted only 8-9 hours.
Therefore, we should not trust the advertisement too much when it will be used in reality to see how valid Microsoft’s claim is.
Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3: Design
colors:
Body:
Keyboard:
Microsoft has given this new Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 a slim and sleek design like its earlier versions. It is approximately 0.62 inches thin by 8.12 inches wide and 10.95 inches tall, and it weighs 2.49 pounds.
It is available in four different colors Ice Blue, Sage, Sandstone and Platinum. I loved this design when I first saw it a few years ago and still love it. However, it’s starting to look a little dated compared to something like the latest MacBook Air M2, which has a much cleaner design.
Still, the laptop feels sturdy and sleek, and the keyboard is roomy that’s comfortable to type on. The trackpad is also a good size for easy use. Interestingly, not much has changed in the Surface Laptop Go 2 in terms of design, which is a bit surprising.
The 12.9-inch screen, while not super high-resolution, still looks good. The laptop has a USB-A port next to its only USB-C port, which is a bit disappointing because these days, there are at least two USB-C ports. Apart from this, it has a 3.5 mm headphone and Microsoft’s unique Surface Connect charge port.
You can still open and close it easily with one hand. This ultraportable laptop feels well-designed and reliable, even if it isn’t the most exciting option. But whatever work we have to do gets done through it.
Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3: Ports and Connectivity
Microsoft has given only one USB-C 3.2 port and USB-A 3.1 in it, which is a bit disappointing. Due to the lack of many ports, we cannot connect many things to it.
Apart from this, if we talk about other ports, you will get a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a Surface Connect port.
Through this jack, you can plug in headphones or earbuds, while the Surface Connect port is a proprietary port designed by Microsoft specifically for their Surface devices. You can use it to connect various Microsoft Surface accessories together, expanding the functionality of your laptop.
Talking about connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6, which is the latest generation of Wi-Fi technology.
This standard provides faster and more reliable wireless Internet connectivity. Apart from this, it also has Bluetooth Wireless 5.1 which provides better stability and efficiency in wireless connection, making it easier to connect and use your peripherals seamlessly.
Final Words
The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 has a variety of features and options to suit different people. It looks good and has a great screen, making it a good choice.
However, in real life, the battery life may not be as long as Microsoft claims. Also, it doesn’t have as many ports as some people would like. Still, it is a reliable and well-built laptop for everyday use and other tasks.
