ZOWIE FK1-DW and ZA12-DW Return in Larger 55g Designs

ZOWIE’s wireless mouse lineup is getting larger without getting heavier. The new FK1-DW and ZA12-DW arrive with bigger dimensions than the FK2-DW and ZA13-DW, yet both weigh only 55 grams. That cuts 10 grams from the smaller models while giving players access to shapes that have long been popular among competitive FPS gamers.

The FK1-DW follows the familiar FK design that many Counter-Strike and Valorant players have used for years. Its lower profile leaves more space between the palm and the shell, allowing quick adjustments during tracking and precision aiming. The shape has remained a favorite among players who prefer greater freedom of movement rather than constant palm contact.

The ZA12-DW takes the opposite route. A taller rear section fills more of the hand and provides additional support during aggressive flick shots and rapid directional changes. Players who prefer a more connected grip often gravitate toward the ZA series, and the wireless ZA12-DW keeps that characteristic intact.

While the dimensions have increased, weight has moved in the opposite direction. Both mice come in at 55 grams, making them lighter than the previously released FK2-DW and ZA13-DW. For players with medium to large hands, this combination may be more significant than any sensor upgrade or new feature.

ZOWIE has revised the outer shell as well. The side walls feature a more angled shape, giving fingers a clearer contact point during lift-offs and repositioning. These small adjustments are particularly noticeable in low-sensitivity FPS play, where lifting and resetting the mouse happens constantly throughout a match.

A new gray dry-touch coating replaces the traditional black finish found on earlier ZOWIE models. The surface is intended to maintain grip without becoming slippery during extended gaming sessions, while giving the mice a noticeably different appearance from previous generations.

Inside, both models are comes with PixArt’s PAW3950 optical sensor and support polling rates up to 4,000Hz. The hardware is paired with ZOWIE’s Enhanced Receiver, which doubles as a charging dock. The receiver sits closer to the mouse than a typical USB dongle and is designed to improve signal stability in environments crowded with wireless devices.

Like other recent ZOWIE products, neither mouse relies on software for adjustments. DPI settings, polling rates, lift-off distance, click response times, and Motion Sync settings can be changed directly through onboard controls. Many competitive players prefer this approach because it avoids background applications and keeps settings tied directly to the hardware.

Battery life is up to 80 hours at a 1,000Hz polling rate. Higher polling settings reduce runtime, but the figure remains competitive for a lightweight wireless esports mouse.

The FK1-DW measures 128.9 mm in length, 66.8 mm in width, and 37.3 mm in height. The ZA12-DW comes in at 125.8 mm long, 64.6 mm wide, and 41.4 mm high. Those measurements place both models firmly in the medium-to-large category.

Pricing in China has been set at 1,079 yuan for both mice.

European sales begin at the end of July through ZOWIE’s online store and participating retailers. Buyers in the United States can purchase the FK1-DW and ZA12-DW through ZOWIE’s official store in late August, with Amazon availability following in September. Canadian sales through Memory Express and Best Buy Canada are scheduled for mid-September.

Rather than introducing an entirely new shape, ZOWIE has focused on something many long-time fans have requested: larger wireless FK and ZA models without a weight increase. The result is a pair of 55-gram esports mice that stay true to their original designs while trimming weight and updating the hardware underneath.
