ASUS has officially released a teaser for a redesigned dual-screen gaming laptop under its Republic of Gamers lineup, confirming that the device will be unveiled at CES 2026. Shared through ASUS ROG’s official channels, the short teaser hints at a significant design change for the company’s well-known Zephyrus Duo series.
The teaser video briefly shows a laptop with two large displays stacked vertically, a departure from previous Zephyrus Duo models, which featured a smaller secondary Screen Pad Plus above the keyboard. In the new design, both screens appear closer in size and importance, suggesting a more balanced dual-display layout rather than a primary screen with a supporting panel.
Notably, the teaser shows the bottom display appearing to be as wide as the main screen. This has led to speculation that ASUS is experimenting with a sliding, detachable, or repositionable keyboard design. Such an approach could improve ergonomics, an area where previous Duo models received criticism, while allowing the bottom screen to be fully utilized for productivity or creative tasks.
ASUS has not confirmed the final product name, specifications, or internal hardware, but the branding visible in the teaser clearly places the device within the ROG family. Given ASUS’s history with dual-screen gaming laptops, it’s expected that this refreshed design will represent the next generation of the ROG Zephyrus Duo rather than an entirely new product category.

The Zephyrus Duo lineup traditionally targets gamers, streamers, and creative professionals who benefit from the extra screen space for live chat, streaming controls, editing timelines, creative tools, and system monitoring. This unique positioning has historically placed the Duo model above most other ROG laptops in terms of complexity, thermal design, and price.
While pricing hasn’t been announced, previous Zephyrus Duo generations launched as premium devices, positioned above more portable models like the Zephyrus G14 and G16. Instead, they were typically priced closer to high-end ROG Strix systems, reflecting their dual-screen design and flagship-class hardware.
This teaser also comes at a time when laptop manufacturers are increasingly experimenting with unconventional form factors to stand out in a crowded market. While foldable and rollable displays remain largely experimental, ASUS is one of the few manufacturers to have invested in dual-screen laptops across multiple product generations.
ASUS is expected to reveal full specifications, pricing, and availability during its CES 2026 keynote in January. If the redesigned Zephyrus Duo delivers significant improvements in usability, cooling, and comfort, it could once again emerge as one of the most distinctive gaming laptops showcased at CES 2026.
