COLORFUL B860M and B760M Wi-Fi 7 motherboards Launch

Colorful Technology Company Limited has introduced a new lineup of BATTLE-AX B860M and B760M motherboards. These boards bring features like Wi-Fi 7, PCIe 5.0 storage support, and compatibility with Intel’s latest Core Ultra 200S processors. The idea is to offer next-gen features for gamers and PC builders without pushing into flagship-level pricing.

The updated lineup includes the BATTLE-AX B860M-PLUS S WIFI7 and B760M-PLUS S WIFI7, giving Colorful Technology Company Limited a stronger presence in the mid-range motherboard segment. With these models, the focus is on faster networking, more stable power delivery, and support that works well for both new builds and upgrades.

The B860M variant is built for Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors, aligning with Intel’s newest platform. In comparison, the B760M model continues to support 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen Intel Core CPUs. This gives users a clear choice between adopting the latest DDR5 ecosystem or staying with a more budget-friendly DDR4 setup.

One of the biggest upgrades here is the move to Wi-Fi 7, aligning with broader adoption across newer platforms like the Wi-Fi 7 laptop. Compared to Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, it offers lower latency, higher speeds, and a more stable connection. For gamers, streamers, and creators, that means smoother online play, quicker downloads, and more reliable overall performance.

The B860M-PLUS S WIFI7 features a 10+1+1+1 phase 60A DrMOS power design, built to handle demanding workloads and modern CPUs efficiently. It supports DDR5 memory speeds up to 8800 MT/s and includes three M.2 slots, including one PCIe 5.0 x4 slot for next-generation SSDs, consistent with advancements covered in PCIe 5.0 SSD developments. This makes it a strong option for users planning high-speed storage upgrades.

Colorful has also made upgrades easier to handle, with tool-free designs for installing the GPU and M.2 drives. The board comes with a good mix of USB Type-A and Type-C ports, along with 5GbE LAN for fast and stable wired networking.

The B760M-PLUS S WIFI7, which is more reasonably priced, is perfect for those upgrading from older computers because it supports DDR4 memory. It contains three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots with complete heatsink coverage to provide steady performance under stress, a reinforced PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for contemporary GPUs, and a 12+1+1 phase 60A DrMOS power architecture.

The selection is subsequently expanded by other models, including the BATTLE-AX B760M-PLUS D5 V20 and B860M-GHA WIFI V20. These variations include DDR5 configurations, improved cooling designs, and more storage choices, such as 2.5G Ethernet connectivity and PCIe 5.0 M.2 capability. Product materials emphasise strengthened parts and full-cover cooling armour for improved durability and thermal performance.

Colourful is pitching the BATTLE-AX series as a solid value choice in the developing motherboard market, a segment also seeing activity from boards like the ASUS TUF B850I WiFi Neo Mini-ITX AM5 board. Next-generation PC setups are becoming more accessible as features like Wi-Fi 7, PCIe 5.0-ready, and flexible memory support are no longer exclusive to high-end boards.

While the B760M boards are still a viable upgrade option for consumers who desire contemporary functionality without completely changing their system, the B860M versions are better suited for those switching to Intel’s most recent Core Ultra platform.

The specifications indicate that these boards will directly compete in the mid-range market, where performance, connection, and value are most important, even though pricing and availability have not yet been formally announced.
