Gigabyte Unveils AORUS ELITE World’s First 27-Inch 5K Multi-Mode Mini LED Gaming Monitor

The Gigabyte introduced the FM275K16P, a 27-inch monitor that combines a 5K panel, Mini LED backlighting, a glossy screen finish, and three selectable display modes at computex 2026. Alongside it, Gigabyte revealed new AORUS ELITE OLED models built around fourth-generation Tandem OLED technology and HDR brightness reaching up to 1,500 nits.

Gigabyte describes it as the world’s first 27-inch 5K Multi-Mode Mini LED glossy gaming monitor, a category that currently has no direct competitor. Instead of forcing users to choose between resolution and refresh rate, the display can switch between 5K at 165Hz, 4K at 220Hz, and QHD at 330Hz.

A 5K mode can take advantage of the panel’s full resolution for creative work and detailed visuals, while the QHD 330Hz mode targets players chasing the highest frame rates possible in competitive games. Most monitors are built around a single resolution and refresh-rate target, but the FM275K16P approaches both ends of the market with one panel.

Gigabyte has paired the display with a Mini LED backlight featuring 2,304 local dimming zones. The company claims the monitor delivers Retina-level clarity through its 218 PPI pixel density, a figure that is substantially higher than typical 27-inch gaming monitors currently on the market. Text, interface elements, and high-resolution images should appear noticeably sharper than on conventional QHD gaming displays.

While many gaming monitors continue to rely on matte coatings, Gigabyte is betting that a glossy surface paired with Mini LED technology can deliver stronger perceived contrast and a more vibrant image.

The FM275K16P is the only monitor in the lineup comes with AI Super Resolution. Gigabyte describes the feature as an intelligent image-enhancement technology designed to improve clarity and sharpness through real-time upscaling.

Alongside the Mini LED flagship, Gigabyte is refreshing its OLED lineup with fourth-generation Tandem OLED panels. The company combines the technology with its RealBlack Glossy surface and claims HDR peak brightness levels reaching up to 1,500 nits. That figure places the new panels among the brightest OLED gaming displays announced this year.

The monitor features Dual Mode support and DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 connectivity capable of delivering up to 80Gbps of bandwidth. High-bandwidth connectivity has become increasingly important as monitor manufacturers push higher resolutions and refresh rates, and Gigabyte is placing the FO32U24GP at the premium end of that segment.

The company has also introduced the FO27Q28G, expanding the OLED family with another option aimed at gamers looking for OLED image quality in a more traditional form factor.

Beyond the hardware itself, Gigabyte is adding several new software-driven features. HyperNits dynamically boosts HDR brightness while preserving highlight detail, while AI Picture Mode automatically adjusts SDR image settings depending on the content displayed on screen.

The AORUS ELITE lineup further gains Tactical HUD and Tactical Crosshair. Tactical HUD keeps important information anchored within designated screen areas, while Tactical Crosshair automatically changes between red and green color profiles depending on the background behind it.

Gigabyte’s AI OLED CARE PRO package adds Auto Lock, Adaptive Light, Automatic Pixel Clean, and Eye Care Reminder. These features work together to reduce unnecessary panel activity, adjust brightness based on ambient lighting conditions, maintain panel health, and encourage regular viewing breaks during long sessions.

Gigabyte has complemented those features with an upgraded thermal design that incorporates integrated heat pipes to help maintain stable OLED performance over extended periods of use.
