ASUS has released the ROG Crosshair 2006 motherboard to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Republic of Gamers brand. The new X870E motherboard is currently available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for 829 EUR.
The board features a retro copper and blue color design that looks like the original 2006 version. However, ASUS used lightweight aluminum with a copper-colored finish instead of real copper heatsinks, which has upset some computer builders given the high price.
The new motherboard supports AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 desktop processors on the AM5 socket. It includes a 2-inch OLED screen on the main M.2 slot that displays system temperatures, fan speeds, and custom pictures.

For memory, the board has four DDR5 slots that support up to 256GB of RAM. It also features a strong 20+2+2 power design to handle high-end processors safely.
The board offers plenty of expansion options. It includes two PCIe 5.0 graphics card slots and five total M.2 slots for storage drives. It also comes with fast WiFi 7 and 10GbE networking for quick internet speeds.
