ViewSonic Launches CDEG3 OS-Free 4K Displays for Secure Meeting Rooms

Commercial displays usually arrive with built-in software, but ViewSonic is taking a different path with the new CDEG3 Series. The lineup leaves out the onboard operating system and built-in apps, giving businesses a display that works with external devices while reducing software-related security risks. The new family comes in six sizes ranging from 43 inches to 98 inches.

There are no pre-installed applications, and users cannot add new ones later. ViewSonic says removing the onboard operating system reduces the attack surface against digital threats while cutting maintenance work for IT departments.

The CDEG3 Series works with laptops, mini PCs, and media players through USB-C and HDMI connections. It supports Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), so employees and visitors can connect their own hardware without being tied to a single platform.

The displays power on in less than eight seconds according to ViewSonic. A metal-backed chassis and commercial-grade components are rated for continuous 24/7 operation, making the lineup suitable for meeting rooms that stay in daily use.

Each model features a 4K UHD panel with 500 nits of brightness for presentations, video meetings, dashboards, and digital signage. Built-in 20W stereo speakers and support for both portrait and landscape installation give businesses more installation options without adding extra audio equipment.

A single USB-C cable carries video, audio, and data from compatible devices, while HDMI ports support additional hardware. This setup reduces cable clutter and makes it quicker to connect a laptop before a meeting starts.
