PowerColor has expanded AMD’s Radeon RX 9000 series lineup with the Radeon RX 9050 8GB Reaper, a compact graphics card designed for entry-level 1080p gaming. Built on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture, the new model features a dual-fan cooling system, a 100W board power rating, and support for the latest AMD graphics technologies.
The Radeon RX 9050 Reaper is built around AMD’s 4nm Navi 44 GPU. It comes with 16 Compute Units, 1,024 stream processors, 32 AI accelerators, and 16 ray tracing accelerators, bringing the latest RDNA 4 architecture to AMD’s entry-level desktop graphics card lineup.
Radeon RX 9050 Reaper includes 8GB of GDDR6 memory running at 18Gbps on a 128-bit memory bus. This configuration provides enough memory bandwidth for modern 1080p gaming and everyday graphics workloads.
It has paired the RX 9050 Reaper with an aluminium heatsink, two 80mm cooling fans, and a full-length metal backplate. According to the company, the cooling system also includes Honeywell PTM7950 phase-change thermal material, dual ball-bearing fans, and intelligent fan control to help manage temperatures under load.
PowerColor says the fans remain switched off during light workloads to keep noise levels down. They automatically start spinning when the GPU reaches 60°C and stop once the temperature drops below 50°C. The company also says the nine-blade fan design is intended to improve airflow while maintaining quieter operation.
The RX 9050 Reaper operates with a Game Clock of up to 1,920MHz and a Boost Clock of up to 2,600MHz. It has a typical board power of 100W and draws power through a single 8-pin PCIe connector. PowerColor recommends using a 450W power supply with the graphics card.
It offers two DisplayPort 2.1a outputs and one HDMI 2.1b port for display connectivity. Both interfaces support resolutions of up to 7680 × 4320, allowing the card to drive high-resolution displays.
The RX 9050 Reaper measures 200 × 100 × 39 mm and uses a compact dual-slot design, making it suitable for a wide range of mainstream and small-form-factor desktop PC cases.
This GPU is compatible with PCIe 5.0 x16, AMD Smart Access Memory, AMD Eyefinity, DirectX 12, and OpenGL 4.6. These technologies provide support for modern games and multi-monitor setups.
PowerColor has not yet announced the price or release date for the Radeon RX 9050 8GB Reaper. Additional details, including regional availability, are expected closer to launch.
