ASUS is adding a larger 18-inch model to its TUF gaming lineup with the new TUF Gaming 7 Pro Max, powered by AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX and GeForce RTX 50-series laptop GPUs aimed at high-performance gaming and creator workloads.
The laptop is built around AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, featuring 16 cores and 32 threads for demanding games, multitasking, and productivity work. ASUS pairs the chip with RTX 5060, RTX 5070, and RTX 5070 Ti laptop graphics across several configurations. The RTX 5070 version carries 8GB VRAM, while the top RTX 5070 Ti model ships with 32GB memory and 1TB SSD storage.
ASUS is offering five configurations in total. Buyers can choose RTX 5060 models with 16GB or 32GB RAM, RTX 5070 versions with 16GB or 32GB RAM, and an RTX 5070 Ti model paired with 32GB memory. Every version includes DDR5-5600 memory and PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.
The biggest upgrade compared to earlier TUF gaming laptops is the display. ASUS equips the notebook with an 18-inch 2560 × 1600 panel featuring a 300Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, and full DCI-P3 color coverage, approaching refresh rates featured in the Xiaomi Redmi G25 2026. The display also adopts a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving more vertical workspace than traditional 16:9 gaming panels.
The chassis follows ASUS’s updated mecha-style design language with asymmetrical cuts and angular surfaces. ASUS lists thickness at 18.9 mm and weight at around 5.95 lbs (2.7 kg). Despite the larger screen size, the notebook stays slimmer than many older 18-inch gaming laptops.
Cooling relies on a dual-fan layout with rear exhaust ventilation. The larger chassis gives ASUS more thermal headroom compared to thinner 16-inch gaming laptops, especially when running RTX 5070 Ti graphics under sustained gaming loads in systems such as the MSI Titan 18 Max.
Battery capacity is 90Wh, and the laptop supports 100W USB-C PD charging, a feature increasingly common in Best Thunderbolt 5 laptops. That allows lighter charging for travel and general work without carrying the full gaming power adapter.
Connectivity focuses heavily on desktop-style practicality. The left side includes HDMI 2.1, RJ45 Ethernet, two USB-C 10Gbps ports, one USB-A 10Gbps port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The right side adds two more USB-A 10Gbps ports. ASUS keeps a wide selection of full-size ports instead of reducing connectivity for thinner dimensions.
The keyboard includes 1.7 mm key travel with RGB backlighting, continuing ASUS’s focus on deeper key response compared to ultra-thin gaming notebooks.
The TUF Gaming 7 Pro Max combines a large 300Hz QHD+ display, RTX 5070 Ti graphics, and a slimmer 18-inch chassis aimed at high-performance gaming workloads while staying below the ROG lineup in ASUS’s gaming portfolio.
The ASUS TUF Gaming 7 Pro Max goes on sale in China starting May 8. ASUS has not confirmed official pricing yet.
