Colorful has brought back a classic hardware configuration for its Hidden Star G15 gaming laptop to offer buyers a more affordable retail option. The budget-friendly model is currently listed on Chinese e-commerce platform JD.com. This return of older hardware designs follows the manufacturer’s display of custom Colorful gaming laptops during recent industry trade shows.
With global memory and storage prices rising, several computer manufacturers are reintroducing older component designs. Budget-conscious buyers frequently search for value configurations, such as the Thunderobot Radiant 16S gaming laptop deal, to get gaming capability at a lower entry price. Reusing previous generation chips helps brands keep retail laptop prices down for consumers.

The laptop has a 15.6-inch (39.6 cm) display panel with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution. This IPS gaming display supports a 144Hz refresh rate but only covers 45% of the NTSC color gamut. Internal hardware components include an older Intel Core i5-12450H processor paired with 16GB of dual-channel memory.
To handle storage needs, the manufacturer includes a 512GB solid-state drive. Graphics processing is managed by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card, which is suitable for entry-level gaming tasks. The cooling setup uses dual fans and a single 10mm heat pipe to draw warmth away from the core silicon.
Colorful has set the initial retail price for this configuration at 5,999 Yuan, which converts to approximately $825 USD. However, local buyers can apply national consumer subsidies to reduce the price to 5,099 Yuan, which converts to around $700 USD. This subsidized pricing makes the laptop one of the most affordable dedicated gaming options on the market.
For now, the model remains exclusive to the Chinese retail market with no announcements regarding a wider launch. Western buyers looking for budget configurations will have to wait for official export details from Colorful. In the meantime, local customers can purchase the laptop directly through the JD.com product listing page.
