Dell XPS 13 Goes on Sale With Intel Wildcat Lake and $599 Student Price

Dell has started selling a new XPS 13 configuration powered by Intel’s Wildcat Lake platform. The model, listed as the XPS 13 DX13260, starts at $599 for students and $699 for regular buyers, making it one of the most affordable XPS laptops Dell has released in recent years. The student price places the notebook in a segment that has recently seen increased competition from lower-cost premium laptops such as Apple MacBook Neo.

The XPS 13 DX13260 uses Intel’s Core 5 320 processor, a 6-core chip with two Performance cores and four Efficiency cores. Dell pairs the processor with 8GB of LPDDR5X-7467 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD.

Dell equips the notebook with a 13.4-inch touchscreen featuring a 2560 × 1440 resolution, a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and brightness rated at 500 nits.

The chassis measures 12.7 mm thick and weighs 2.2 lbs (1.0 kg). Dell uses a CNC-machined aluminum body along with a glass touchpad featuring an anti-smudge coating.

Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. The laptop also features a 1080p IR webcam with Windows Hello support, dual-array microphones, and a quad-speaker system rated at up to 8W output.

The XPS 13 DX13260 includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery support. Dell does not include USB-A, HDMI, or a memory card reader on this model.

Power comes from a 52Wh battery paired with a 65W USB-C charger. The notebook ships with Windows 11 Home and includes a 30-day Microsoft 365 trial.

The DX13260 is one of the first XPS models built around Intel’s Wildcat Lake platform. Rather than targeting premium workstation workloads, Dell appears to be positioning the laptop as a lightweight everyday laptop with a high-refresh-rate display and modern wireless connectivity.

The Dell XPS 13 DX13260 is available through Dell’s online store with student pricing set at $599 and standard pricing starting at $699.
