Dynabook’s Portégé lineup now includes the Portégé X45W, a 14-inch convertible laptop built around AMD Ryzen 200-series mobile processors.
The laptop targets business, education, healthcare, and public sector environments where reliable mobile computers are essential. Enterprise laptops like the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 7 also focus on productivity and enterprise deployment.
The laptop uses a 360-degree hinge that allows several usage modes. Convertible systems with similar hinge designs include devices like the Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen 11, which also switches between laptop and tablet modes.
It can work as a standard laptop for typing, fold into a tablet for writing, stand upright for presentations, or operate in tent mode during meetings and video calls.
A 14-inch WUXGA display (1920 × 1200) with a 16:10 aspect ratio sits on the front. The panel supports touch input and works with an MPP 2.0 active stylus. The pen supports 4,096 pressure levels and tilt detection, allowing natural handwriting or sketching. The anti-glare screen surface is designed to create a pen-on-paper feel, while palm rejection helps prevent accidental touches during writing.
The stylus charges through USB-C and includes a charge indicator. According to Dynabook, a one-minute charge can provide up to 2.6 hours of use. A full charge can last up to 36 days based on about two hours of daily writing. The chassis also includes a built-in holder to store the pen.
AMD Ryzen 200-series processors power the laptop, paired with integrated Radeon graphics. Ryzen-powered laptops like the Lenovo Legion 7A Ryzen AI highlight how AMD processors are appearing across different laptop categories. Available configurations include the Ryzen 5 220 with Radeon 740M graphics, Ryzen 5 230 with Radeon 760M, and Ryzen 7 250 paired with Radeon 780M graphics. These processors include up to eight CPU cores for multitasking workloads.
Some configurations include an integrated neural processing unit (NPU) for on-device AI tasks. The hardware can support features such as enhanced video conferencing, AI assistants, and content summarization without relying entirely on cloud processing. A dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard provides quick access to Microsoft’s AI features in Windows.
Standard EZ-Buy configurations ship with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 512 GB SSD running Windows 11 Pro. These configurations are intended for organizations that prefer standardized hardware deployments.
The Portégé X45W uses a dark blue metallic aluminum chassis designed to meet MIL-STD-810H durability testing methods. The keyboard is backlit and spill-resistant and includes conferencing shortcuts for platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom. A large precision ClickPad with a glass-like surface helps improve cursor control during long work sessions.
Wireless connectivity is handled by a MediaTek MT7925 Wi-Fi 7 module with Bluetooth support. Wi-Fi 7 can deliver higher throughput and lower latency compared with previous wireless standards, which helps improve performance in dense office networks. A built-in Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet port is also included for wired connections.

Additional ports include HDMI, USB Type-C, USB Type-A, and a microSD card slot. Build-to-order models can also include smart-card support for organizations that require hardware authentication.
For video meetings and remote collaboration, the laptop includes a Full HD webcam with a digital privacy shutter. Dual microphones and tuned audio support video conferencing and online meetings.
Security features include a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and Microsoft Pluton, both designed to strengthen hardware-level protection for enterprise deployments.
Pricing and availability
Dynabook plans to sell the Portégé X45W through authorized resellers and through its official website. Three standard EZ-Buy models will be available alongside build-to-order configurations for enterprise customers.
EZ-Buy systems include a three-year warranty. Pricing has not yet been announced.
