HP has revealed the Star Book Pro Air 14 (2026 Core Edition) in China, combining a near-1 kg class design with Intel’s H-series processors, a combination that is still uncommon in this segment.
The chassis comes in at 1.09 kg (2.4 lbs) with a thickness of 12.75 mm, placing it among the lighter 14-inch notebooks while still targeting higher sustained performance.
Processor options include Intel Core Ultra 5 225H and Core Ultra 7 255H. These are full H-series parts rather than low-power variants, and HP rates the system for up to 45W performance output. In this weight class, that level of sustained power is typically limited by thermal constraints, making the configuration notable for workloads beyond basic productivity.
To support that power level, the internal layout uses a dual-fan cooling system, a design more commonly found in heavier performance laptops.
The display is a 14-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 × 1800 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It covers 100% DCI-P3 color and reaches peak brightness up to 1100 nits, placing it above most standard OLED implementations in thin notebooks.
Battery capacity is listed at 60Wh. While this aligns with typical 14-inch systems, real-world endurance will depend on how the H-series processors are managed under sustained load.
Port selection avoids the ultra-minimal approach often seen in thin laptops. The system includes two full-function USB-C ports, two USB-A (5Gbps), HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5 mm audio jack, along with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
HP is offering three configurations:
- Core Ultra 5 225H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD — 5,998 yuan
- Core Ultra 5 225H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD — 6,998 yuan
- Core Ultra 7 255H, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD — 9,998 yuan
The Star Book Pro Air 14 sits between traditional ultrabooks and performance notebooks. Weight stays close to the 1 kg range, but the use of 45W H-series processors and a high-refresh OLED panel shifts it toward heavier workloads that are usually handled by larger systems.
