Intel Wildcat Lake Laptop Shows Fanless 11W Mode With MacBook Neo-Style Design

An early Intel Wildcat Lake laptop has surfaced online, featuring a thin aluminum build and a fanless mode that puts it in the same category as Apple’s MacBook Neo-style designs.

The laptop is based on Intel’s Core Series 3 platform with a 6-core hybrid layout made up of two Cougar Cove performance cores and four Darkmont low-power efficiency cores, as outlined in Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus desktop CPUs. The chip also includes an NPU rated at 17 TOPS, aimed at basic AI-assisted tasks.

Graphics come from a compact Xe-based GPU with up to two Xe cores, suited for everyday workloads and light graphics use, positioned below higher-tier options such as ASRock Intel Arc Pro B65 Creator GPUs.

The platform supports several power levels, a flexibility approach used in processors covered in Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX. It can run in an 11W fanless mode for silent operation, a 17W base mode for balanced use, a 22W performance mode, and up to 35W peak output when higher performance is needed.

The design shown appears to be an Intel reference system rather than a final retail device. The aluminum chassis and slim profile match what is typically seen in budget-friendly thin-and-light laptops.

Wildcat Lake sits below Panther Lake in Intel’s mobile lineup and focuses on efficiency and lower power use, as reflected in Intel Nova Lake 12 Xe3p graphics desktop CPU. The configuration is aimed at entry-level notebooks and edge systems where quiet operation and battery life matter more than raw performance.

Intel has already introduced the Core Series 3 platform with availability starting in April, but retail systems have not yet reached the market. This early unit indicates that devices are still in development.

Pricing and final specifications have not been announced.
