Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 Launch Upgradeable LPCAMM2 RAM and 120Hz OLED to Global Markets

Lenovo has released the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 globally, bringing upgradeable LPCAMM2 memory and an optional 120Hz OLED display to its 14-inch business lineup. The shift to modular memory marks a clear change from soldered designs common in thin laptops.

The laptop is available with Intel Core Ultra processors, ranging from Core Ultra 5 325 up to Core Ultra X7 358H, including vPro variants for enterprise use, as detailed in Intel Core Ultra architecture coverage. Higher configurations with H-series chips target heavier workloads.

Memory moves to LPCAMM2, supporting up to 64GB LPDDR5X-6800 in a single module. Unlike soldered RAM, the module can be replaced or upgraded, allowing users to expand memory without replacing the entire board. This also improves long-term serviceability compared to previous designs.

Display options start with a 1920×1200 IPS panel and extend to a 2.8K OLED panel. The OLED option runs at 2880×1800 resolution with a 30–120Hz variable refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, and full DCI-P3 color coverage. A 120Hz panel at this size remains uncommon in business laptops, while OLED adds higher contrast and smoother motion.

Storage offers up to 2TB, with support for PCIe Gen5 SSDs on higher configurations, while entry models ship with PCIe Gen4 drives, as covered in PCIe Gen5 storage developments.

Battery options include 60Wh and 75Wh variants. Lenovo lists up to 35 hours of local video playback under optimized test conditions, depending on configuration.

Connectivity avoids the need for adapters. The laptop includes Thunderbolt 4, USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and Ethernet, along with optional features such as NFC, fingerprint reader, IR camera, and 4G WWAN in select markets.

The chassis starts at 2.80 lbs (1.27 kg) and goes up to 3.02 lbs (1.37 kg) depending on battery size. Thickness ranges from 11.3 mm at the front to 21.95 mm at the rear.

Compared to the previous generation, the move to LPCAMM2 memory and the addition of a 120Hz OLED panel stand out as the main upgrades, reflecting trends in business laptops with advanced displays.

Pricing is listed across regions:

  • Australia: starts at AUD 2,749
  • United Kingdom: starts at £1,560
  • Europe: starts at €1,719

North America availability is expected at a later stage.

The shift to upgradeable memory and the addition of a high-refresh OLED panel give the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 a clear edge over many thin business laptops in this category.
