LG 25G590B Becomes the World’s First Native 1000Hz Gaming Monitor

LG Electronics has officially introduced the 25G590B, a new esports-focused gaming monitor that becomes the world’s first display to support a native 1000Hz refresh rate. The announcement marks a major milestone for competitive gaming hardware, where manufacturers continue pushing refresh rates and motion performance beyond the current 540Hz generation.

The 25G590B uses a 24.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) panel designed specifically for professional esports players and ultra-fast competitive games. A native 1000Hz refresh rate means the display can refresh the image up to one thousand times per second without relying on frame interpolation or software-based refresh enhancement technologies.

The extremely high refresh rate is intended to improve motion clarity, reduce perceived blur, and lower visual latency during fast-paced gameplay. While the jump from 144Hz to 240Hz is noticeable for most gamers, refresh rates beyond 360Hz are primarily targeted at professional esports users who prioritize ultra-low latency and precise motion tracking in competitive titles.

LG says the monitor combines a high-performance display panel with a custom controller architecture optimized for extremely fast frame delivery. Although the company has not yet shared detailed technical information about the panel technology, response time, HDR certification, brightness levels, or adaptive sync support, the display is clearly positioned as a tournament-grade esports monitor rather than a general multimedia display.

Running games at 1000 frames per second will also require exceptionally powerful hardware. Competitive esports titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, and Overwatch 2 may benefit the most from the monitor’s capabilities, especially when paired with high-end CPUs and flagship graphics cards capable of sustaining extremely high frame rates at 1080p resolution.

The 24.5-inch Full HD format remains one of the most widely used configurations in professional esports tournaments because it allows players to maintain high frame rates while keeping visual targets within a compact viewing area. That makes the 25G590B particularly relevant for players focused on reaction speed and competitive performance in the best FPS games for PC.

Users who prioritize cinematic visuals, HDR performance, and deeper contrast ratios may still prefer OLED-focused alternatives such as the ASUS ROG Strix OLED, which target a different segment of the gaming monitor market.
